MTN Is Responsible For The Loss Of 10,000 Lives - Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, stated that the reluctance of telecommunications giant, MTN, in deactivating unregistered lines contributed to the killings by the insurgent group, Boko Haram.

Buhari said this during a joint press conference after holding closed door meeting with South African President, Jacob Zuma at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President also said the severe $5.2 billion fine imposed on MTN was as a result of the security implication of the telecommunication firm's inaction.

"This is the first time I will be personally as a president making a public comment about it. The concern of the federal government is basically on the security and not the fine imposed on MTN."

"You know how the unregistered GSM are being used by terrorists. And between 2009 and today, at least 10,000 Nigerians were killed by Boko Haram."

Magic Or 'Miracle'? South African Preacher Pours Hot Water On His Members To Demonstrate 'Faith'

A South African pastor, Apostle Thamsanqa Sambulo, claimed he performed a miracle after he allegedly poured boiling water on himself and members of his church.

The KwaZulu Natal-based young pastor is the founder of Thy Word Kingdom Harvest Ministries which has been making headlines because of lots of reasons.

He has been having revivals across the country and he recently performed a miracle which left everyone shocked.

Trying to bring back what happened when the Biblical Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego were thrown into the lake of fire and were not burned, Apostle Sambulo boiled a kettle of water and started demonstrating on his church members by pouring the boiling water on them.

The Facebook page of Thy Word Kingdom Harvest Ministries told the story of Sambulo's miracle claim.

According to the post, one evening during a church gathering, Sambulo asked a member of his church to "go boil water in a kettle at the kitchen".

Sambulo then hugged the kettle "on his chest".

The post read: "The congregation was in shock, as they shouted: 'NO!' (sic) Some couldn't even look.

"He then asked: 'Who has faith here?' (sic) One by one, people came and did what the apostle did, and were not hurt. He re-boiled the water... as he did...one young woman came to him and said; 'Papa I have faith, pour it on my hand as hot as it is.'

"The Son of God first poured on Himself, then poured unto this lady. The rest of the congregation, one by one followed, as they also wanted to test their faith."

Social media was set on fire when rapper and celebrity boyfriend to Kylie Jenner, Tyga reportedly began referring to iconic rapper Tupac Shakur as his dad.

Sunday night March 6, Tyga went on Twitter and talked about a letter that he allegedly received from the man he thought was his father, who is in prison serving a life sentence.

Tyga says he never met his real father, but if he had to pick one, it would be Tupac Shakur.

"Pac taught me a lot more than my own father," he wrote.

"Inspired me, motivated me, listened without ever being there."

He posted a photo of himself and a photo of Tupac and labeled it "Dad."

That sent fans into a frenzy.

One wrote: "Are you tripping? He's rolling over in his grave. Only similarity: Tupac's dead, like your career."

BADDEST!! Yahoo Boy Arraigned By EFCC For $1000 Scam

Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) today March 7, arraigned one Bolaji Quadri (aka Philip Coffert) before honorable Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye of the Lagos State High Court on a 6-count charge of forgery and obtaining money under false pretence.

The defendant allegedly duped one Raedeena Collins of the sum of $1000 by falsely claiming to be on Phillips Coffert. At the point of his arrest, several fraudulent documents were found in his possession including forged cashier's cheque from international banks in both United States and United Kingdom.

One of the charge reads that "you Bolaji Quadri (a.k.a Philip Coffert) on or about the 5th day of March 2015 in Lagos, within the Ikeja Judicial Division by false pretence and with intent to defraud obtained the sum of $1000 (One Thousand US Dollars) from one Raedeena Collins by falsely representing to her that you are Philip Coffert which pretence you knew to be false and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 1(3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act No.14 2006".

Bolaji pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
In view of the plea of the defendant, Zainab Etu, the prosecution counsel asked the court for a trial date. However, the defence counsel, Gbenga Osho informed the court that he wished to file a bail application for client and hope same would be heard on the next adjourned date.
Justice Ipaye adjourned the matter to 3rd and 4th May 2016 for the commencement of trial and hearing of bail application. She ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody.

South African gay singer, Koyo Bala, dies of anal cancer

Koyo Bala surrendered to a battle with cancer Monday morning at Groote Schuur hospital in Cape Town, South Africa. 

Before he died the 36-year-old gay musician and socialite has confirmed that the anal cancer he was diagnosed with in 2012 has returned. 

In the recent past Bala has staged a brave fight against cancer and had been diagnosed HIV positive. 

Speaking to the publication, Bala said: "I went for chemotherapy for six weeks and a radiation programme two years ago, but the cancer came back severely." 

Bala, best known as a member of defunct gay trio 3Sum, in 2012 underwent an operation to remove piles. 

He was, however, following tests told that he didn't have piles, but cancer. He was at the time treated with radiation and chemotherapy for six weeks, but his doctors recently referred him to physicians at the Victoria Hospital in Cape Town, where he will have surgery in the coming weeks. 

"I was referred to Cape Town to do the operation by doctors in Johannesburg. The doctors told me they were surprised [I had the cancer] because it is something that is more prevalent in women," he explained. 

Bala was diagnosed with cancer a few months after he publicly admitted that he was HIV positive, a period in which he also lost his mother to a stroke. 

Speaking for the family longtime friend and housemate Ephraim "Ephymol" Molingoana told Sowetan Live that Bala always kept a positive outlook and remained strong throughout his illness. 

"We are devastated and in state of disbelief," he said. The flamboyant 37-year-old was a member of 'bubblegum pop' group 3Sum along with Jeff Moyo and Amstel Maboa. 

Bala had hinted at a comeback to the music scene when he posted a picture in studio captioned "Let's go back to the beat".

4 dead, many trapped as another building collapses at Lekki Phase One

Four people  have been confirmed dead and many others feared trapped after a five storey-building collapsed at Lekki Phase one in Lagos on Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred at Chisco bus stop, opposite Oando Gas Station.

According to Director, Lagos State Fire Service, Rasaq Fadipe, five people have been rescued alive, while search and rescue continues.
