OBA OF BENIN IS DEAD!
According to authoritative sources within and outside Edo State, the well-regarded king transited to the great beyond about two weeks ago. His death is still being kept secret because by Benin tradition, the death of an Oba could only be officially announced 30 days after his transition.
The Oba was said to have died in his palace. Immediately he was confirmed dead by his personal physician, a delegation of senior Benin chiefs went to the house of the heir apparent the throne, Prince Eheneden Erediauwa to inform him of the development.
Investigations by ionigeria.com revealed that the Oba died about two days before the campaign rally of the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Major General Mohammadu Buhari in Benin City. Buhari had his rally in Benin City on Thursday, January 29, 2015. That is why the Monarch could not receive Major General Buhari.
Similarly, when President Goodluck Jonathan visited Benin City for his campaign rally, he was only received at the palace by a team of Benin chiefs led by the Iyase, Chief Sam Igbe.
Oba Erediauwa was born in 1923, son of Oba Akenzua II. Before being crowned he was known as Prince Solomon, Aiseokhuoba, Igbinoghodua Akenzua. He attended Edo College, Benin City, Government College, Ibadan then Yaba College, before going to King's College, Cambridge to study Law and Administration. He joined the Eastern Nigeria Civil Service in 1957 as a District Officer, later moving to the Federal Civil Service where he retired as Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health in 1973. For a short period he was the regional representative of Gulf Oil. In 1975 he was appointed Commissioner for Finance in Bendel State during the Military Administration of Major-General George Agbazika Innih.
Ascending to the throne as the 38th Oba of Benin on 23 March 1979. During this period, he several times acted as a peacemaker between politicians. For example, he intervened in a dispute between Abia State governor Orji Uzor Kalu and Tony Anenih, Chairman of the People's Democratic Party Board of Trustees, and resolved another face-off involving Anenih and former Edo State Governor Lucky Igbinedion. More recently, he tried to broker peace between the feuding members of Edo State House of Assembly.
It would be recalled that his wife, Queen Esther died about a year ago.

Christina Lorena Reber was sentenced to two years in jail after she tore her ex's testicular sack from his body in a savage attack.
Reber, 46, was reportedly in a drunken rage when she decided to go to the unnamed man's home in Indiana.
According to a police report, the victim, who has not been named, had broken up with Reber just days before.
The couple had been seeing each other for eight months and it seems Reber was not ready for the relationship to end after she turned up drunk.
The victim told police he was working on his computer when he noticed his ex had walked in uninvited, before Reber began punching him in the head.
Reber then grabbed her former lover's scrotum and began "squeezing as hard as she could".
The two began fighting with the victim recalling he was "in incredible pain when Reber grabbed his scrotum and began digging in her fingers".
The jilted woman refused to relax her grip but the victim was finally able to pull himself free after they fell to the ground

It's not known for certain how the superstition surrounding this day arose, but both Friday and the number 13 are connected with the crucifixion of Christ (Friday being the day the crucifixion took place, commemorated weekly in Catholic practice, and 13 being the number of people present at the Last supper). According to Phillips Stevens, Jr., associate professor of anthropology at the University at Buffalo (SUNY), "There were 13 people at the table (at the Last Supper) and the 13th was Judas. The Last Supper was on a Thursday, and the next day was Friday, the day of crucifixion. When '13' and Friday come together, it is a double whammy."[3]
Friday has been considered an unlucky day to undertake journeys or begin new projects at least since the 14th century, as witnessed by Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.[4]
However, folklorists maintain that there is no written evidence for a "Friday the 13th" superstition before the 19th century.[5][6][7] An early documented reference in English occurs in Henry Sutherland Edwards' 1869 biography of Gioachino Rossini, who died on a Friday 13th:
He [Rossini] was surrounded to the last by admiring friends; and if it be true that, like so many Italians, he regarded Fridays as an unlucky day and thirteen as an unlucky number, it is remarkable that on Friday 13th of November he passed away.[8]

PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident happened in the Akoka area of Ibafo, Ogun State, on Monday, February 9. The runaway suspect, Bidemi, who is married with children, was the manager of Golden
Fingers Bar in the area, while Emmanuel was one of his attendants.
Bidemi, who had accused Emmanuel of theft on Sunday, allegedly tied the teenager's hands and feet in a room in his bar till Monday, waiting for him to admit the offence.
It was gathered that on Monday, at about 11.30pm, Bidemi brought Emmanuel out to the front of the bar, poured petrol on the boy and set fire on him. Luckily, some residents, who were out at the time, rescued the victim.
They were said to have rushed Emmanuel to a private hospital in the area where he was initially treated before he was referred to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos, the following day.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the matter was reported to the Ibafo Police Division, and the policemen sealed off the bar. However, it was gathered that the suspect, Bidemi, fled before he could be arrested.
When their correspondent got to the area on Thursday, Emmanuel's uncle, Mr. Toyin Olayemi, said the boy was rejected by four different hospitals before he was eventually taken to LASUTH.
He said:
"Emmanuel's father is not around. He went to his hometown in Ekiti because he fell ill. On Tuesday morning when they told me about Emmanuel. I rushed to the private hospital and I saw him on the bed, severely burnt from head to abdomen.
He was working on part-time basis in the bar, although Bidemi did not pay him any salary. Emmanuel is also learning generator repair at a workshop. I was told that the manager accused him of stealing N1,500.
Despite pleas from neighbours that they would repay him, he waited till everyone had gone to sleep and brought out the boy and burnt his body.
The private hospital asked us to take him away the following day. We went to about four government hospitals which rejected him before we came to LASUTH.
Since that Tuesday, they have not allowed us to see him. They said he was still under observation. The suspect too has run away. We learnt that a policeman in the Ibafo division tipped Bidemi off to evade arrest."
When Punch visited the suspect's father, Pa Shittu, he said that the most important thing was for the victim to get well. He said:
"My wife went to check the boy in the hospital. The doctors did not allow her to see him, but they told her that he was responding to treatment. I have spent about N150,000 on his treatment. I have not seen Bidemi. I don't know his whereabouts. He has refused to pick my calls. The most important thing is for the child to get well."
On getting to the private hospital in Ibafo where Emmanuel was initially treated, the doctor said he ensured that he was in a stable condition before he was transferred.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He added that the police were intensifying efforts to arrest the suspect. He said:
"The suspect poured petrol on the boy for stealing. He maltreated him, tied his hands and feet, and set him on fire. The boy is still in the hospital and the suspect is presently at large. But the police will arrest the suspect.
This act is not only criminal, but also barbaric. We are intensifying efforts to get him and we will."

Pandemonium As Primary 3 Girl in Lagos Gets Pregnant after being Raped
The police have arraigned a 27-year-old man, Tope Akintade, for impregnating a primary three pupil, Beatrice (pseudonym), after he allegedly raped her.
Akintade and Beatrice, an orphan, are neighbours at a compound on Baale Street, Agboju, Kuje in the Amuwo area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the 13-year-old victim was outside washing plates in the afternoon, sometime in November, when Akintade, who hails from the Idanre Local Government Area, Ondo State, lured her to his room and forcefully had sex with her.
Beatrice's aunt, who preferred to be anonymous because of the nature of the incident, had earlier
warned the suspect to stay away from her niece when she (the minor) complained that he was "playing rough play" with her. Neither the aunt nor other lodgers of the compound were around on the fateful day to intervene in the act as Akintade reportedly coerced the minor into three rounds of sexual romp.
It was gathered that the act, which the minor had kept secret, became apparent when she began to exhibit some symptoms usually shown by pregnant women.
She was said to have been taken to a hospital where a test conducted on her revealed that she was three months pregnant.
Akintade was eventually arrested by police officials attached to the Satellite Police Division and charged with rape.
PUNCH Metro was told that he had confessed to the crime in a statement made to the police. A prosecutor, Olusoji Ojaokomo, arraigned him before an Apapa Magistrate's Court on two counts of rape.
The charge read, "That you, Tope Akintade, 27, on Baale Street, Agboju, Satellite Town, Kunje, Amuwo, Lagos, in the Apapa Magisterial District, did defile one Beatrice by having canal knowledge of her and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.
"That you, Tope Akintade, did indecently assault Beatrice by touching her private parts and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 134 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011."
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty before the magistrate, Mrs. O.I. Adelaja, who admitted him to bail in the sum of N50,000, with two sureties in like sum.
"The sureties must tender to the court evidence of tax payment and their residential addresses for verification," she added.
She adjourned the case till March 23, 2015 for mention.

People have been receiving requests from the "+91" numbers on WhatsApp everyday since last week. They attract you saying "They love you", sending beautiful pictures or send any other text messages that can attract you. They can even call you & after receiving a call you might die or go to hospital. Some people died, some are sick. This is not a joke or anything!
Today we saw a tweet from a 16 year old brave boy "Master-Kay (@MasterKaySA)". According to his tweet, he made a research of this scam numbers that his friend received and he found out that those numbers correspond with numbers that was tweeted by @kakanirathna under CRA NSLD care numbers. We even received a voice-clip from the other lady confessing about how her friend died after receiving a call. Photos from Master-Kay and a voice-clip of evidence is down below.

Few months ago Aliko Dangote was named the richest man in Africa and the 23rd richest man in the world by Forbes, making him the first black man to mark the top 25 richest list.
However Bloomberg Billionaires is claiming that the business mogul has lost over half of his $25 billion fortune in just 6 months!
the Chairman of Dangote Group is now ranked 83rd richest man in the world with an estimated fortune of $12.8 Billion. He reportedly lost $676.56 Million last month.

Yesterday at the Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, a ton of famous hollywood stars in music, fashion and entertainment showed up to support rapper Kanye West for his runway show. While sister-in-law Kylie Jenner walked the runway for Kanye's new Adidas collection, the audience was packed with huge superstars including Rihanna, Beyonce, Jay Z, Big Sean Diddy Combs, Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian and the Most Important Toddler In Fashion, North West. Nori cried during the show but she eventually managed to pull through and have a good time despite the drama.
