The unsung heroes award by Omaliving Show

2016 has been such an eventful year. It came with its own uniqueness and it's just a few days left for 2017 to come in.

Most business minded and idea filled people and organisations are already drawing up their calendar for 2017.

Omaliving Show is already lining up some events for 2017.

Mistakes were made in 2016, bee things were learnt but in all, the Omaliving Show brand is ready and even more enthusiastic to make more impact.

Amongst the many events lined up is the UNSUNG HEROES AWARD. We are starting the year 2017 with this unique award which is meant to recognise and celebrate young people and role models in various fields.

This is a way to inspire the youths and also encourage more people to tow the right part.

Omaliving Show is about inspiration.

The maiden edition of this event will be in February. Details will be communicated as soon as further arrangements are made.

This award event will also be merged with the RIGHT STAGE CHARITY/EMPOWERMENT PROJECT. Funds are expected to be raised for this project Which has been able to empower a lot of young people without support from the public.

This is the idea of the multi talented and phenomenal host and producer of OMALIVING SHOW "Marilyn Oma Anona".

Sponsors and partners are also welcome.

2017 will be a great year.

Be enlightened…
Be inspired…
Be motivated…

How kiss Daniel Escaped Assassination In Calabar Carnival (Photos)

The Calabar Christmas Village, which is located at Calabar Municipal Council Secretariat, opens for 24 hours from December 1 to December 31 every year as a central location of revelry.According to reports, while Kiss was on stage, the bandits came and carted away some of his belongings.Speaking with Punch, an injured shop owner in the village, Glory Andem, said the presence of robbers became obvious when some spectators started throwing bottles at the musician.

She said, "It was a serious situation and I got injured. What happened was that some guys came into the village and tried to rob Kiss Daniel when he was singing, 'Oya talk to me o mama.'"They were throwing bottles and other things at him. Before we knew it, they brought out guns and started shooting. Some security men immediately rushed to the singer. But even with the security, the robbers rushed at him and removed his clothes and collected things from him."They would have killed that guy. To be honest, I don't know how he managed to escape. You know there are several thousands of people in the Christmas village usually and the situation led to a serious pandemonium."They broke up everything in my shop. They took all my money. They robbed a lot of shops. Our chairs were broken. Everybody was running at the same time. It was a terrible experience."Several cars were vandalised. They broke the cars to steal from them. At a point, the lights went off and I thought I was going to die. As I speak with you, I have a serious cut from the incident and I want to go to a hospital to take a tetanus injections."

Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Jimoh Ozi-Obeh, said it was not a robbery attack, but a misunderstanding between the organisers."There was no robbery incident in Calabar and nobody was attacked by robbers in any other part of Cross River State."What happened was that the government had initially planned to host the musician at the stadium, but the plan was changed to the Calabar Christmas Village. They probably had misunderstanding with the organisers", he said.

TOUCHING! FROM NYSC TO REST IN Peace : 7 Top NYSC TRAGEDY In 2016

Corners Should Be Very Prayerful Because When Though It Is A Natural Phenomenon For Humans To die,  Dying Early Or Before Eating The Fruit Of One's Labor Is The Most Pathetic Of All,  In This Article We Shall Be Looking At The Tragedies That Haunted Youth Corper In The 2016

The overview of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) starts from the call-up after which the corps members will report to their states of deployment.  According to the scheme, the orientation course is designated to achieve the following objectives of the scheme: To familiarise corps members with their new environment in their political, cultural, social and economic setting, to instil discipline in the youths and to imbibe in them the spirit of collective responsibility.

But for many families, it is a sad tale that lingers on. There have been so many reports regarding deaths of corps members which have stirred great debates regarding the importance of scheme. Here are 7 top NYSC tragedy in year 2016:

'CORPER' HAFSAT ISA Who Died Few Days To Her Wedding

A young female NYSC member, Hafsat Isa, lost her life in a ghastly motor accident along the Kaduna-Abuja Expressway, on the day she was supposed to pass out of the scheme.

Deep sorrow gripped hearts of the family of Hafsat who were all planning for her wedding ceremony which was slated for December 2016 after her passing out ceremony.

SAMUEL OKONTA, An Orphan Who Was Gruesomely Murdered During  Rivers Re-Run

Corper Ngozi Was Burnt To Death Beyond Recognition With Her Khaki Uniform

On the 23rd of June 2016, a 26-year-old female member of the NYSC was burnt to death in a tragic accident at Mbiokporo Nsit (Nsit Ibom LGA) along Aka Etinan road by JW ground, Akwa Ibom State.

The corper who was burnt beyond recognition with her khaki uniform was later identified as Ngozi Onyekwere, an Accounting graduate from the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), who was meant to pass out from the NYSC scheme in a few weeks before her death.

Corper Ngozi was returning from the government house where she was posted when her vehicle, a Toyota Camry suddenly caught fire in Mbiokporo Nsit in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area.

Controversial Death Of First Class Graduate, Ifedolapo Oladepo

Ifedolapo Oladepo, a corp member, gave up the ghost at NYSC orientation camp in Kano, after the medical personnel at the camp reportedly administered a medication which she reacted to immediately.

Like many thousands of young graduates mobilised for the 2016 Batch 'C' service year, 26-year-old Ifedolapo, a first class Transport Management graduate of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho had said her goodbye to her family members, hoping to see her dreams fulfilled but that dreams were shattered.

Exactly a week in the Camp, it was her corpse that was brought to her family after she was said to have died following complications arising from an ailment few days into the NYSC orientation programme in Kano. The remains of Ifedolapo was sent to her parents in Osogbo, Osun State, from Kano where she was buried at her family's residence.

Authorities of the scheme attributed her death to an untreated renal sepsis infection, according to investigations carried out by a panel of Inquiry set up to look into the cause of her death. The investigation showed that the deceased responded well until about 2:00 am on 29th November when her condition worsened, and her body began to show noticeable signs of fluid retention. She was thereafter placed on oxygen as the doctors battled to stabilise her for the long journey to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital.

Following the controversy generated by Ifedolapo's death which many pointed out that she died because of NYSC negligence, the Federal Government said that for an independent investigation be carried out, the body of miss Ifedolapo may be exhumed for an autopsy. But Ifedolapo's father insisted that there was no need to exhume the remains of his daughter because the result of the autopsy would only reveal what caused the death and not the negligence of the medical personnel at the NYSC camp clinic.

Ameh was one of the Batch B Stream 2 set corp members that celebrated their passing out parade on November 4, 2016, in a happy mood, he was heading back home to meet his family in Benue State when he met his death in a fatal motor accident along Otukpa-Ugbokolo Road in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State. He was buried on Tuesday, November 8, in Itabono Owukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area, Benue State.

Female Corper BLEEDS To Death In Bayelsa Orientation Camp

A 27-year old, female corps Member, Elechi Chiyerom also died at the Bayelsa National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp after bleeding and vomiting on arrival at the camp.

The graduate of the Ignatius Azuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, was confirmed dead five days after arriving at the camp.

The report noted that the deceased looked "terribly sick" when she arrived at the camp and was rushed to the camp's sick bay after she relapsed into ill-health

The doctor at the NYSC camp's clinic was said to have referred her to the state-owned Diette-Koki Memorial Hospital in the Opolo area of Yenagoa, the state capital, where she was confirmed dead while NYSC officials said that it was a case of "non-disclosure" of state of health by the corps member.

Another Corps member, Ukeme Monday Asuquo, a first class graduate, who was mobilised to Zamfara State for the NYSC programme also died in the camp. The Petroleum Engineering graduate who never wanted to serve in Zamfara died at the orientation Camp in Zamfara after suffering from Diarrhea.

My 5 Best Dressed Celebs At The #Headies2016 (Photos)

The 2016 Headies has come and gone but one thing's for sure, some of our celebrities served their best looks and slayed while some others fell hand.

Here are five of our best dressed celebrities who graced the event.

1. Falz & Adesua Etomi

The hosts for the Headies, Falz and Adesua did not disappoint as they made a stunning pair in their exquisite outfits. Falz looked every bit the quintessential gentleman while Adesua looked as cute as a button.

2. Simi

Simi kept it simple and stunning in this wedding dress

3. Ric Hassani

No one is sure if Ric Hassani has ever had a bad outfit day. If you compiled lists like this from events all year round, Ric might just be the only male artist who would make all the lists.

His style is impeccable

4. Sheyi Shay

Seyi Shay barely sneaks into this list because she went with an altogether different look than what we're used to and though not everyone will agree, she sort of pulls it off.

5. Flavor

Since we're sneaking people in, might as well just sneak in Flavor for the culture

TOUCHING!! Students And Corpers That Invested Money In MMM Laments

It is no news that one of the biggest financial freedom scheme of 2016 is on pause and a lot of participants are restless about the development

Some university students have cried out, saying that they put their school fees and project money in MMM.

Read their stories after the cut...

— Ozadhe Russell, Civil Engineering department, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso
"The amount I invested in the MMM scheme was N100,000. I was expecting my 30 per cent profit when I got the news that our accounts have been suspended. It was a  bitter news. Being a student, the fund was raised to pay my school fees and to meet other basic needs. It is a great risk but many students enrolled in the scheme to make profit and to live a better life. If MMM crashes, I would accept it as my fate.  I will have to look for other ways to source my school fees. There is nothing I can do. I will only learn from it and not engage in such a scheme again."

 — Faniyi Inumidun, Accounting department, AAUA

"A friend introduced me to participate in the MMM scheme. Being a lucrative one, I decided to benefit too, having heard of the success stories. I invested N40, 000 in the scheme. The money is for my final year project and my feeding allowance. It will be very painful if MMM crashes. Considering my investment, it will be a big loss for me. My plan was to use the profits from the scheme to finance my final year project and to meet other needs. I am seriously praying that the suspension should be lifted so I can reclaim my funds."

— Chukwunyere Chimobi, Electrical Electronics, FUTO

"A friend in my department started talking about MMM excitedly. He said MMM was a new online business platform that credits you with 30 percent interest of your payment in 30 days. I said waoh! I never took interest in it until the need to tackle certain needs arose.
On Tuesday when the news that the MMM had been suspended came in, I was expecting bank alert of roughly N500,000. I raised the fund to participate in the scheme from my pocket money. If the scheme crashes, it will be a big loss to me. Just last week, I lost to an online business called 'coin fever,' it all happened within minutes. I have always known that MMM would crash soon.  If it crashes, it will hurt me but life goes on. I participated in the scheme despite the risks to upgrade my life and to beat the current economy recession. There are so many financial needs to meet up with such as paying my school fees, buying text books and other learning materials as well as other dues in the school."

 — Martin Mundus Unakwe, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, FUTO, Owerri

"The latest investment I made in MMM was N100,000, but in total, I invested over N250,000 in the scheme. I got money to invest in MMM from other businesses that I run as a student. I didn't have any special plan for the money I would make from MMM. With the profit,  I would upgrade my lifestyle and improve my life. I had always known that it would crash one day as it is not a sustainable scheme. But I always prayed that my money doesn't get stuck when it eventually crashes. I will feel the impact of the loss if it crashes.  MMM is not my only business. I do other things that fetch me money."

 — Ifediora Sylvia, Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State

"A friend of mine told me to join MMM  when I told him I needed some money. I decided to try my luck with the money. When I saw many students making money, I joined the trend. I actually participated in the scheme because I needed to meet up with some basic school needs. For example, when I offered to provide "help" of N50,000, in the following month, I collected N75,000, with a gain of N25,000 without working or stressing myself.
I basically invested in it because of the high return on investment. In this period of recession, it became a way out. I will say I belong to the lucky category of investors. I got all my money back last month before the accounts were frozen; I decided not to participate in it again because I was scared.
It is hard to believe that the money of other participants is going to be paid back. I hope and pray they lift the ban in January as they promised."

— Tunde Afuwape, Biochemistry, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso

"Someone introduced me to MMM and he talked excitedly about it. I invested N30,000 in the MMM  business. The money was what I made from a project I did for someone. Being a final year student, I am already preparing for graduation.  I figured out that before my NYSC, there are things I could do if I have some cash. It will be painful if the scheme crashes Against an imminent crash, which I have been praying against, I will move on with life. This is because, from the outset, I understood the risk involved.Life is all about risk."
