The political impasse in Fayose's Ekiti state nearly claimed the life of an EKSU student who was hacked at the base of his skull with an unidentified weapon during a violent clash.

A youth, believed to be a student of the Ekiti State University, (EKSU), Ado Ekiti, had suffered a grievous cut on his occiput region (near the skull base) in a clash that is not unconnected to the arrest of some students' leaders in Ekiti State.

Enekem gathered that the supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had clashed following the arrest of the National Vice-President, External, of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Tosin Ogunkuade in the aftermath of Presidential Candidate Muhammadu Buhari's rally in the state.

According to the APC State Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, the student leader was arrested because he had addressed the crowd at the Saturday rally and discredited the PDP government.

But the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, said the student, alongside three APC "thugs were arrested with guns, axes, cutlasses and other dangerous weapons."

The injured student [pictured] is presently receiving medical attention according online reports.

Recently, my sister visited the gynecologist for the first time. And everything was looking pretty good down there. Thank God. The doctor even complimented my sister on her relaxation skills.

But when the gyno noticed that my sister had applied powder down there, in preparation for her vagina being bared for a virtual stranger to see, she frowned before issuing a warning.

She held her hand up in a 'stop' motion and said, "And don't put powder down there. It's not natural."

My sister conceded that point. She could do without powder. And then the doctor hit her with another zinger.

"You really shouldn't be putting anything down there but water."

"Not even soap?" My sister asked, assuming she'd made an oversight.

"Just water."

"Well, I sweat a lot down there."

"Just water. Your vagina cleans itself."

"Ok…" My sister said okay but that was not a point she was willing to concede.

The doctor went on to explain that putting anything down there, even soap, can possibly lead to infection.

We've known about our vaginas for some time. We even learned that the vagina is so miraculous it cleans itself. How beautiful! But while we were learning all of those fun facts, it necessarily didn't negate years and years of training and paranoia that our "jelly pum pum," and later our "fishy" could literally get to a point where it smelled like the latter.

The maternal side of my family is Jamaican and cleanliness is second only to God, particularly bodily hygiene.

The only way I can describe it, is that we were shamed and frightened into making sure our bodies, and specifically our vaginas, were clean. And that clean included soap. Now, was this the best way to teach hygiene? Shame and fear about your own body? Probably not. But I'm proud to say that the legacy of clean has been successfully passed down.

Now that I'm older, I understand that my vagina is so kind that it saves me quite a bit of time, doing a lot of the work herself. But the residue of shame and the irrational fear that my vagina will somehow end up smelling putrid, make it almost impossible for me to forgo the use of soap entirely.

I've been washing almost everything with soap for years and soap has never caused an infection. Partially because I don't put it inside my actual vagina. Just the vulva. And in the areas where I do apply soap, I make sure to rinse and then dry thoroughly.

Soap has been and will continue to be my friend.

But I am curious about how the other side lives.

Have any of you received similar advice from your gyno about abandoning the use of soap; and more importantly, if any of you have decided to make that lifestyle change, how is it working out for you?

Here,i offer up a few tips and tricks for the most prominent eye shapes.
Big Eyes
Usually big eyes are characterized by ones that protrude from the eye socket
similar to stars like Nicole Richie.
If your goal is to tame those peepers, always remember that "dark pushes back."
For example, smoky eyes or a very thick cat-eye can help give you the illusion of
the eyes moving inward a bit.

Monolids
If you feel like your lash line simply carries on to your brow bone or that you have
minimal eyelid space, you might find you have eyes similar to celebs like Lucy Liu. Your eyes have a minimal crease or lack of orbital bone(the bone above your eyeball).
Starting darker at the lash line and blending your liner upward across the entire
lid will give the eyelid definition. For a cat-eye, keep your line pretty close to the
eye along the lid and then go as Winehouse as you want, with a thick wing at the
end to give the eye some "lift."
At the bottom of the eye, either forgo liner or steer clear of your waterline so that
you're not enclosing the eye and making it look smaller.

Hooded Eyelids
If you have an extra layer of skin that seems to completely diminish your eyelid,
you have something in common with Jennifer Lawrence or even
Emma Stone.
These types of eyes are kind of related to the monolid in some ways.
Keeping liner tight to your lash line and saving the outer edges of eyes for the
ultimate liner lift are similar techniques that work well for both eye shapes.
Lining the upper waterline under the lash line can help to give you more liner
space without encroaching on lid real estate.
Get low! Open those eyes up by getting a little smudgy with your lower lids. Keep
the lines thicker toward the outer edges of the eye also.

Small or Close Set Eyes
It's time to open those bright eyes. A fun way to acheive this is with all-around
smoky liners that steer clear from the lower waterline. Instead of tight-lining the
lower lid with a dark liner, try a nude or white color in this space before defining
the lash line underneath.
Keep dark liner as far from the nose as possible to give the illusion that the eyes
are further away from the nose.

Wide Set Eyes
Kate Moss, Jessica Alba all have wide set eyes. They are said to be
the most beautiful based on the famous "golden ratio." Wide set eyes usually
have a whole eye's worth of space in between your eyes.
To "bring them together" you might want avoid that shimmery eyeshadow in the
tear duct trick to avoid emphasizing the amount of space. Whale-shape eyeliner
is where the thickest part of your liner is closer to the nose and might prove a
better choice to help close up some of that space.
