Help !!! My Husband Wants to Take My Umbilical Cord to The Village

Hello Enekem,

Please hide my ID. My due date is 22 of this month but the way I am seeing it, I may even go in earlier than that because my body is rapidly changing. This will be my third child and my first son as i have a 5 and 3 yr old daughters but I did not experience this when I had them. 

My husband told me that my mother in law is demanding that we bring my umbilical cord home to the village after delivery. I was shocked beyond word. I inquired to know why and he told me that its tradition. I didn't believe him until he insisted and I found out he was serious.

I couldn't comprehend it. He said that every male child in their community (Umu-eze anam) under goes the same thing. I told him that my cord will not be going anywhere because I never knew he and his mother were diabolic. He insisted that there is nothing diabolic about it.

When I insisted on knowing what they needed the cord for, he said that they usually bury it and then plant udara (agbalumo) tree over it. That it wasn't diabolical but merely symbolic of the position of a first child and the fruitfulness.

Enekem , since last night, I have been thinking. I even had a bad dream when i managed to doze off. Honestly, My mother in law goes to church and I don't doubt my husband but my spirit is not comfortable with this and at the same time I don't want to disobey my husband because he is a very good husband and father. Please what do I do?

Yemi Alade's fans are dragging her after she shared some fan art on her Instagram  page.

The fan tried to recreate the original photo of the singer in their drawing but was unable to get her exact likeness.

The singer reposted the picture on her page and captioned it,

#Please my dear, REMOVE ME FROM THIS PICTURE AND PUT YOURSELF…E GO FIT YOU PASS

But her fans are going in on her, saying that she wasn't appreciative of the artist's effort and was rude for making a joke out of it.

I want you guys to analyse these two pictures very well, it's been bothering me but I don't know what to do..

THIS is where I live in Onitsha, and this pic is my neighbour's flat, we share the ground floor..

The mother of the house is a teacher who teaches in Ebonyi state and leaves Onitsha everyday to Ebonyi..She has 5 kids - 12,6,3,2 and 1 year respectively. 

She travels with the one year old everyday and locks the rest at home..she goes out with the key..so the 12 year old is the one I circled in the pic. 

I came home for lunch now and I saw the boy crying there. His mom locked him in that place and locked the younger ones in the house, of courcse she took the keys. 

Prior to this time, she used to lock them all in the house, but the 12 year old will scale through the toilet window which is the no 1 picture, go out and leave his younger ones in the house from morning till night. Yesterday, his mom came back around 4pm, earlier than expected and he didn't come back till 7pm..that's what prompted her to leave him in the mini cell with no food or water.. 

Firstly , I think locking kids in the house is a bad idea.
Secondly, I don't know what to think, how to advise her and all coz she needs help.. A 12 year old boy scaling? His younger ones are watching, what do you think will happen?
Advise please.

Linda Ikeji drags Wizkid to Lagos Police commissioner Over Recent Feud

The fued juat got messier,
The on-going war between Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji and pop star, Wizkid has taken a new turn.

Ikeji, who's developed a thick skin, after years of multiple celeb spats, hasn't let the singer's attitude debar her from covering his misdemeanours.  

She joined other blogs to report on his alleged second baby mama. But their beef got worse early April when Linda Ikeji's blog alleged that Wizkid had been served a quit notice from his Lekki residence in Lagos.

 

It has been confirm that Ikeji has reported the threat to the Lagos State commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni.

A source with details told Nigerian Entertainment Today a summon has been issued to Wizkid, with an invitation letter sent to the Surulere office of his manager, Sunday Are.

'He was instructed to show up today but he did not', a source say. 

His manager, Sunday Are didn't pick our calls or respond to our messages.

We also reached out to ASP Olorunfemi Shem of Lagos state police who promised to get back to us. He has not responded as at the time of publishing this report.

Linda Ikeji declined to comment.

According to a legal source, Section 323 of the criminal code states that 'Any person who, knowing the contents thereof directly or indirectly causes any person to receive any writing threatening to kill any person is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for 7 years'.
