OUR MONEY :Nuhu Ribadu is a liar - Ibori reacts over $15m bribery allegation

Following claims by Nuhu Ribadu in several publications that he tried to bribe him with $15million to stop an investigation against him,Chief James Ibori has described the claims as horrible, revolting, nasty and totally false.

A statement released by Chief Ibori's Media office reads

"As the Senate and some security agencies appear to be asking questions about some unwholesome events at the EFCC, including the mismanagement and criminal diversion of funds from the sale of confiscated properties into personal pockets, Ribadu may have a need to attempt to burnish his fading image, fearing the investigations may ask questions about events during his tenure.But he should be told that lying, against even an enemy, just to gain some unearned applause and perhaps fence off some approaching investigation and image disaster,must have a limit,"

Ribadu claimed in the news reports: 

"Ibori approached me with $15million to stop his investigation. I called my people because the money was in big bags, which two people could not carry and we deposited it in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as evidence against him".
"This nonsensical statement has remained in the public domain only because some people have suspended their sense of disbelief and condemned themselves to every hogwash that Ribadu invents in the attempt spruce himself up in borrowed plums".
"It is on record that Ribadu has made at least five statements over this same claim, and no single one agreed with another. Also both Ibrahim Lamorde (the immediate past EFCC Chairman(and one James Garba, a CBN staff then seconded to the EFCC, made police statements which contradicted Ribadu's. Even Senator Andy Uba said in a statement that EFCC collected the said money from his house'.
'Nigerians should know that it was the money from Obasanjo's Third Term Tenure elongation bid that was dressed up as a bribe just to demonize Ibori. Some five billion dollars were employed to bribe the national and state legislatures to support the accursed project, with certain individuals receiving from N50 to N200 million'.
"The attempt to shoot Ibori down began in 2003, when some PDP Governors were opposed to Obasanjo's second term bid. That money, sourced from wherever, was used against Ibori, as part of that long-time 'bring Ibori down project' . We challenge any newspaper or magazine to check all the statements on this bribery allegation and see how each of them, including Ribadu's five different statements, howls to Ribadu himself: "you are a damned liar". We challenge the journalists to please hasten to prove us liars by looking into those statements".

In this latest report, Ribadu told another damned lie:

"I arrested Ibori and prosecuted him. Since his friend was in power, they removed me, sent me to a school as a student where I was once a teacher".

The team of investigators at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) looking into how the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) shared funds meant for fighting Boko Haram has detected another line of payment made to companies linked with Thisday publisher and owner of Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena.

The investigators said Obaigbena received at least N650million from Dasuki for questionable transactions.

They also said that Obaigbena, who is also the Chairman of the Newspaper Proprietors Association Of Nigeria, has dropped out of sight since the discovery and all attempts at reaching him have failed, EFCC sources said.

Today, Sahara Reporters reached Mr. Obaigbena, who said he was in New York.  He said that prior to his trip to New York, he had been at meetings in London, and will return to Nigeria when he is through with his visit to New York.

He admitted that his newspaper company received a letter from the EFCC and that a response had been sent to explain what they know about the case involving Raymond Dokpesi's Daar Communications.

Dokpesi was arrested last week, but he and his family have offered conflicting accounts about why he received billions of Naira from Dasuki. 

Obaigbena told Sahara Reporters he did not receive any monies from the former NSA, a point strongly disputed by EFCC investigators.

RIP :Kano Pillars player dies on pitch during a friendly game

A Kano Pillars midfielder, Abdul Haruna has died yesterday evening during a friendly match in Kano. 

The player collapsed during the friendly match between his colleagues and some overseas-based professionals held in a very small pitch in Kano.

According to Pillars media officer, Idris Malikawa the death of Haruna remains a mystery to the club. He said Haruna fell down unchallenged and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

Uwazuruike Officially Renames MASSOB #Biafra

The leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, suprisngly, renamed the group, Biafra Independent Movement, BIM.

Chief Uwazuruike, while making the announcement on Sunday at a press conference in Owerri, said, "The change in name became absolutely necessary because of the sad introduction of violence by the disgruntled dissidents and this is at variance with the non-violence stance of MASSOB over the years."

Four secondary school students have raped a sixteen year old girl from Okpoitumo Community in Ikwo local government area of Ebonyi State, identified as Gladys to coma.

The students of Galaxy foundation Secondary School, Ndiofoke Amagu, whose names were given as Jeremiah Odah, Dick Alo, Ofobuike Alo and Obumnaeme had broken into the girl's house and molested her.

After committing the act, the victim was dropped in a bush where she was found after two days of search party by members of the community.

At the Ebonyi State family law center, the chairman of the court Mrs. Edeh Nwali has petitioned the State Commissioner of Police, CP Peace Ibekwe Abdallah urging her to use her good offices and bring the perpetrators to book.

It was gathered that the four secondary school students are now at large. Father of the victim, Mr. Edward described her daughter as a bread winner of the family, adding that through her tailoring business his family has been surviving.

A brother and sister have swapped genders after they came out to their parents as transgender just a month apart.

At just three years old, Aly McGarrity was a tomboy who would rather be outside playing football with the boys, while her older brother Russie, then 5, enjoyed playing dress up with the girls.

Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has claimed that about $1bn (N197bn) went missing every month under former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The former apex bank governor, said this during a programme entitled 'How a cancer of corruption steals Nigerian oil, weapons and lives', which aired on The PBS NewsHour, an American daily evening television show.

The monarch said many dirty and shocking deals took place under the immediate past Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who is currently being investigated in the United Kingdom.

His words, "In Nigeria, there is no accountability at all and that is why I think Nigeria's corruption is worse than corruption in most parts of the world. It is the worst type of corruption. It's stealing.

"Frankly, I think a billion dollars under Jonathan a month was about what we were losing."

Speaking further, the emir claimed that during Alison-Madueke's tenure as petroleum minister, people paid as low as $50m for access to crude oil blocs valued at over $2bn.

Sanusi said, "Basically, all it does is allow a group of people, who themselves don't have any kind of operating background, to pay $50m for access to the crude oil in blocs, valued at over $2bn and they just take the crude oil, ship it out and don't return the money and there is no trace of where the money has gone.

"Someone gets a contract to lift crude from the terminals to the refineries and in between, that crude is stolen; it is stolen on the high sea."

"If she goes to court and is jailed for example, it sends a signal; I think that there is a day of reckoning," he said.

The US television show quoted United States and UK authorities as saying that Alison-Madueke might have "personally overseen the stealing of $6bn".

"The most common method is awarding oil contracts to companies owned by friends," it added.

When I first started watching porn, I would just watch kind of I guess "normal" or "vanilla" porn, just heterosexual, just run of the mill,' Rebecca told the ABC.

'And then as I got older it started becoming more violent, more aggressive and demeaning, I guess. I would watch it kind of multiple times a day and I felt like I couldn't stop.

'I think I definitely lost control of my sexuality watching the really violent porn and things like bestiality.'

Rebecca said her porn addiction escalated by the time she was 16-years-old when relationships turned violent.

She began to fit the submissive role she saw women portrayed as in pornography, she said, and began asking partners to choke her which they were 'always more than willing to do'.

Because of what she'd seen, Rebecca said she thought it was normal for relationships to be abusive, and that she'd been sexually assaulted 'several times' by her partners.

'Looking back now, a 16-year-old shouldn't have been engaging in really violent sex where there wasn't a huge amount of respect or love involved,' Rebecca said.

'Retrospectively I wish I'd never seen it.'

Still today, the 19-year-old is battling her addiction and visits a psychologist in the hopes of one day enjoying sex without violence.

'I just would like to have a respectful, equal relationship,' Rebecca said. 'And a life where I feel good about myself and my sexuality and I can engage in sex in a really healthy, respectful way.'

The Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) nolifies the declaration of the All Progressive Congress' (APC) Yahaya Bello as governor-elect of Kogi State.

The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Chief Olisa Metuh, in a statement in Abuja on Sunday said,

    "The action of INEC in trying to transfer the votes earlier garnered by the dead APC candidate, Prince Audu Abubakar, to another individual is completely impractical and alien to the nation's Constitution and the Electoral Act.

    "The declaration by INEC that Bello polled the highest number of votes is an embarrassing travesty of the nation's democracy and electoral process. Not only that this individual is not in anyway a valid candidate in the election, he also did not score the overall votes declared against his name by INEC and cannot be declared winner under any circumstance within the provisions of our laws.It is therefore unfortunate that INEC disregarded the provisions of the Constitution and the Electoral Act, which left it with no other legitimate option than to declare Governor Idris Wada the governor-elect Instead, it went ahead to preside over a charade, for which it is now attempting to illicitly handover the vote cast for a dead man to another person, who did not participate in the overall election."

A SPOKESPERSON for the Vatican (Roman Catholic) has officially announced today that the second coming of Jesus, the only son of the God, may not happen now after all, but urged followers to still continue with their faith, regardless of the news.
 
Cardinal Giorgio Salvadore told WWN that this years 1,981st anniversary is to be the Vatican's last in regards to waiting for the Lord to return to Earth.
"We just feel Jesus is not coming back by the looks of it." he said. "It's been ages like. He's probably flat out doing other really good things for people somewhere else."

Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus promised his disciples that he would come again in chapter John 14:1-3 of the bible: "There are many homes up where my Father lives, and I am going to prepare them for your coming. When everything is ready, then I will come and get you, so that you can always be with Me where I am. If this weren't so, I would tell you plainly"

The Vatican defended Jesus' broken promise, claiming "he was probably drinking wine" at the time when he made the comments.

"Having the ability to turn water into wine had its ups and its downs." added Cardinal Salvadore. "We all make promises we can't keep when we're drunk. Jesus was no different."
The church said it will now focus attentions on rebuilding its reputation around the world, but will keep an optimistic mind for the savior's second coming.
