SOUL FOOD: THE CASE FOR CHRISTIANITY

Things are not as they ought to be. We live on two levels. The first is the way things are, the human level. And we can envision and hope for a better world full of perfect justice, beauty, friendship, let's call that the divine level. That's the way things ought to be. So there is a huge chasm between the way things are and the way things ought to be. So how do we bridge this chasm? The atheist goes "that's a wrong diagnosis, we're doing great right now" but that is just a foolish refusal to acknowledge the rotten nature of human being. To realize this, all you have to do is set people loose and remove laws or let the police take a weak off and see what happens.

Most religions in the world say that humans can climb up to the divine level by following a set of codes or commandments; Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Christianity is unique and radical in saying in effect "no". This gap is too wide apart and we cannot climb high enough to get to the divine level. We can go up a couple of runs but we are not satisfied with only a couple of runs, we want to get to the finish line. God saw that and knew the only way to close the gap is if God, has to, in some sense, become man and show us from our human level, how to get up there. That is the only way to really get up to the divine level.

Jesus is, if you will, God's emissary to the world. And look at what Jesus said. He said only one thing we have to do to get there - plead guilty and ask for help and follow the instructions that follow. What could be a more gentler, easier counsel than to say "whatever you've done, even Hitler, if you have true repentance, salvation is sure to be yours"

This, is one of the major reasons why I am a Christian.

9. Caitlyn just wants to enjoy a "girls' night" out. "Where everybody is treating you the same way, you can talk about anything you want to talk about," Caitlyn said. "You can talk about outfits. You can talk about hair and makeup, anything you want. It becomes not a big deal."

Arrest: William Leonard Dodson, 41, was charged with ill treatment of animals
A man has been arrested and charged with animal cruelty over the case of a puppy found in South Carolina with her snout duct-taped shut so tight she will likely be left with permanently damage.

William Leonard Dodson, 41, was picked up by police in North Charleston on Monday night and charged with ill treatment of animals, five days after the dog, Caitlyn, was found in a critical condition.

Dodson has been held in custody pending a bond hearing, and police have not released a motive for the alleged crime. 

The 15-month-old dog appeared on a person's doorstep last Wednesday morning with electrical tape wrapped around her muzzle, Fox Carolina reported. 

Caitlyn is a stray but is well-known to locals in the area and considering very friendly.

The person who found Caitlyn took her to the Charleston Animal Society.

In a statement, Dr. Lucy Fuller, the Senior Director of Veterinary Care at the Animal Society, said at the time: 'Caitlyn is in a lot of pain, her condition is critical, and her prognosis is guarded.

'A large part of her tongue may need to be removed surgically if the tissue dies from the lack of blood flow. 

Treatment: Caitlyn is seen lying down next to a worker from the Charleston Animal Society. Over the weekend she underwent hyperbaric and cold laser treatment to save damaged tissue in her mouth
'She may be severely disfigured, or the large amount of dead tissue may cause life-threatening complications.'

According to Animal Society officials, the tape may have been wrapped for between 36 and 48 hours.

Officials said Caitlyn's tongue had no blood flow since it became stuck between her teeth due to the tight tape wrapping.

A cyclist was disqualified from a nude cycling event in Kent after getting 'overexcited and aroused'.

Witnesses say police led the man away after stunned participants noticed as they de-robed at the start of the World Naked Bike Ride.

'I heard gasps and I turned around – it was a horrible sight,' one witness is quoted as saying on the Cambridge News.

'It's fair to say he was overexcited and got aroused. It looked like he was enjoying the event a bit too much.

'One of the organisers went over to him and told him to put his trousers on while speaking on a walkie-talkie to police.

'The man looked sheepish when he was spoken to by the police.'

The cycling event organiser Barry Freeman said: 'We do not accept this behaviour and he was dealt with and removed before the ride started.'

Times of India reports that, "The venue [of the send-off] was built in the form of a ship. 500 hotel rooms were booked to accommodate guests. An estimated 150,000 people participated in the event."

Reports said he had always wanted to become a monk after he listened to Jain's lectures in 1981, but it took him time to convince his family.

BUSTED!! Village Where People Print Fake Currencies Exposed In Ibadan (photos)

The Oyo State Police Command has discovered a place in a remote village of Ibadan, where thousands of fake pounds, euros, dollars and other foreign currencies were being produced.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Katsina, said that the discovery was made by the command's ambush squad in a village called Ojoku in Badeku, Ona-Ara Local Government Area of the state. The police described the area as fast transforming to an abode for criminals, having earlier served as a kidnappers' den.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene of the crime on Monday, discovered that the police had cordoned off the compound shielded by tall trees and thick bushes.
Two Toyota Camry cars with number plate AA 125 DK and AA 207 DH and a Nissan Almera lift back model with number plate AGL 882 DF were found in the compound, which was fenced with corrugated iron sheets.

Several notes of fake foreign currencies littered the ground.

Apart from being a fake currency factory, the place also served as a shrine where several criminal activities were perpetrated.
There are two houses in the compound with at least six rooms adorned with various statues to give the impression that the place is being used as a shrine. The walls were decorated with the group's description of gods to scare victims.
Ismail Adesina, 43, who was arrested at the scene, said he did not know anything about the currencies and that the owners had escaped.

He said he was a herbalist and that he had been involved in several financial crimes under the pretext of helping victims to cure ailments and barrenness.

Adesina added that the owners of the three vehicles were canvassers who combed the town to woo customers.

He said, "I am a herbalist and I inherited the skill from my father. I am also a conman. I cured diabetes, barrenness, blindness and other ailments. I have cured many people. My partner, who escaped yesterday, knows how the currencies were produced. Taju and Wasiu are my other partners.

We have been here for about four years. We collected varying sums of money from our victims but we do not kidnap people. We bought the land in the bush and built the houses. I am a native of Beyerunka in Ibadan. The names of our victims are with my partners."

Adesina said his wife had left him and taken his child away because he could not provide for them.

He added that he had bought a car from the proceeds of criminal activities but had to sell it. Asked if his father also taught him how to swindle people through fake healing, Adesina said that he was a genuine herbalist before he took to the crime.

The police said apart from taken money from their victims, the suspects also devised a way of gagging them by taking their nude pictures and threaten to release them if they failed to keep the secret.

The greatest murder in life is murdering an innocent man, and no one on earth is as innocent as unborn baby. So killing, aborting or evacuating such innocent human being is the worst crime. When you think you have unwanted pregnancy, think about Mary, the mother of Jesus. She had the worst unwanted pregnancy in the history of the world. Being a virgin, she was pregnant, yes from Holy Spirit, but how many people would understand at initial to alleviate the shame? How many people will she tell that, "Hey, I am not a bad girl, I'm still a virgin, what you see is from the Holy Spirit" And how many people would even believe her? Since such had never happened in history before her case, that a virgin got pregnant and still a virgin, but your case is not as strange or funny as her case. But then her shame turned to glory later. So you may have shame now, but if you trust God, endure and accept the pregnancy as Gift of God, not as a product of your mistake; the shame will later be turned to glory as it happened to Mary.

Do not believe that Pastor that said you can do abortion if you were raped by armed robber or whoever. He is not from God. He is a servant of the devil.

To avoid abortion, is to abstain from sex as an unmarried girl or woman. If you are the type that engage in illicit sex, and you think nobody sees you, GOD SEES YOU. Hell is waiting for you if you refuse to repent.
If you have committed abortion before, if you have suggested abortion before, if you have abetted abortion before, if you have carried out abortion before as a medical person, as a doctor you have helped to abort, as a girl you take pills and drugs to terminate a growing foetus, those that give wrong advice to abort a baby, those that sell the drugs for aborting, You are all in the same page before God- YOU ARE A KILLER, A MURDERER. And all murderers goes to hell. You must repent now, surrender all to Jesus and allow His precious Blood to speak a better thing to your life than the innocent blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24. Then, you must confess to the necessary people for you to confirm your forgiveness. Do not deceive yourself by saying you have confessed to God, you must also confess to one another James 5:16: Maybe your parents, your pastors, or your partners. If you did it in past and you are still single, confess to your partner before you marry, so that your confession can be sincere. Open up your sins before it will open you up at last. And decide never to commit such great crime again in your life; you may not have second change. Now that you have heard this words, do not harden your heart!
