This really sad , some people met death in the bank as A bomb explosion rocked Azare town of Bauchi State today, killing scores of bank customers withdrawing money from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) of the First Bank Nigeria PLC.



According to eyewitnesses, the blast occurred around 10:30am after an Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) was sneaked into the bank premises and kept close to the major ATM machine. A medical officer working with the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Azare, told Channels Television that 18 bodies were brought to the mortuary while the 35 capacity female ward of the hospital was allocated to those brought with various degrees of injuries.

According to the Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, detectives have begun investigation into the incident, with five suspects already arrested. The identities of the suspects were however not disclosed.

Azare town have had its fair share of terrorists attack since the commencement of the Boko Haram insurgency as last three weeks, an explosion at the Yankari Motor Park of the town went-off killing 13 people while over 20 others sustained injuries.

That's the Jay Z line from his 2005 feature on Kanye Wests' song 'Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Remix)' that comes to mind with this news.

Music mogul Jay Z is certainly a businessman as he is constantly expanding his assets. The 44-year-old rapper has reportedly bought over the Armand de Brignac champagne brand popularly known as 'Ace of Spades'.

The golden-bottled champagne, which featured in a 2006 Jay Z music video, sells for $300 (£188) per bottle and is one of the more expensive drinks favoured by the rich and famous.

New York wine and spirits company Sovereign Brands said it had sold the luxury brand to the rapper for an undisclosed amount.

The champagne, also known as "Ace of Spades", is produced in the French town of Chigny-les-Roses by eight people.


This new acquisition is the latest addition to Jay Z's vast business interests outside of his music, which include a clothing line, restaurants and a recording label.

According to Forbes magazine, Jay Z is considered the third richest hip-hop artist in the world with an estimated net worth of $520m.

Subscribers to the telecommunications service provider, MTN Nigeria will, as from Friday (today), have the opportunity to recharge their phones for as low as N10. The Chief Marketing Officer of MTN, Bayo Adekanmbi, revealed this in a statement on Thursday.

According to Adekambi, the initiative, to be launched in Kano, was to ensure that no Nigerian was shut out of the values that the network offers.

 "Apart from making it possible for customers to purchase airtime at the lowest rates, it also offers opportunities for small scale entrepreneurs to sell low-unit portion packs of recharge cards as a new revenue stream. Again, everyday people such as Maishayi, neighbourhood stalls, housewives, students, etc would also benefit immensely from this proposition."
