The London mansions of deceased former Governor of Baylesa State, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, and another dead ex-governor, Abubakar Audu of Kogi State, have been revealed by a United Kingdom-based media ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari's visit to London for an anti-corruption summit.

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, is also expected to be at the event which holds on Tuesday (tomorrow).

In a report entitled: 'Palaces of Corruption',

The Daily Mail published pictures of the palatial homes of the prominent Nigerians including those of the convicted ex-Governor of Delta State, Mr. James Ibori, who is still serving time in a UK prison.

"Properties bought with dirty money often sit empty for long periods. Those living nearby have no idea who their neighbours are, undermining any sense of community. Most importantly, those properties are taken off the market, further squeezing housing supply," the report read in part.

According to the report, Professor Bolaji Owasanoye of the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, who is the Executive Secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption, lamented that UK banks were not doing enough to curb corruption.

He said, "It's great Mr. Cameron (UK Prime Minister) is taking this seriously. But Britain isn't doing as much as it should, in terms of ending the secrecy and making its banks more accountable."

A former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, who has been accused of stealing billions of dollars in public funds, is also in the UK where she's waiting to face trial.

This admonition maybe difficult to adhere to in a society where women are pressured to marry in order to enjoy societal validation. Where chronological age maybe running higher. Where the so-called ''men of god'' adduce spinsterhood to phantom spiritual enemy and sins

But in all this, we still have our individual life to live irrespective of the unjust demands of the society.
So, rather than marry a lousy, lazy and good-for-nothin
g-man as husband, single parenthood remains a reasonable option to realise full-fledged motherhood

A financially comfortable woman with children is happier without cashless husband
Single motherhood has never been a sin neither is it punishable by ''hell fire''.
It is simply a choice and a way of life!
