TRAGIC :Mother Watches as Husband and Son Die in Tragic Road Accident

This is so Sad,

A mum watched in horror as her husband and schoolboy son were knocked down and killed as the family walked home from a Christmas party.

The 43-year-old dad and the couple's seven-year-old son both died in hospital.

The boy, who was critically ill on a life support machine, passed away on Sunday night, less than 24 hours after he was knocked down.

His mother and other relatives were at his bedside yesterday afternoon when they took the agonising
decision to turn the ventilator off.

Tragedy struck as the family walked home from a friend's house shortly after midnight on Saturday night.

The dad was walking ahead holding his son's hand as they crossed a dual carriageway at an accident blackspot. They were hit by a black Alfa Romeo car.

The 22-year-old male driver was arrested and is helping police with their inquiries.

The mum, who was walking behind her husband and son, was uninjured but needed treatment for shock.

Family and friends left poignant tributes at the scene of the devastating crash throughout the day.

A neighbour who lives close to the crash site said:

"They were with other members of their family, laughing and singing along as they went. It's such a tragedy, especially just before Christmas.

Why Nigerians Must Stop Must Stop These Senators From Passing Social Media Bill

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, adopted in 1948, states that:-

"Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."

Also, Chapter IV section 39 of the Nigerian Constitution say. "Every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart ideas and information without interference."

Senator Ibrahim N' Allah`s social media bill proposes up to two years in prison or $10,000 (£6,000) fine or both for anyone disseminating via text message, Twitter, WhatsApp, or any other form of social media an "abusive statement"

This is indeed a paradox, the APC during the last general elections used social media to marshal their change agenda and incite Nigerians against the PDP.

This bill as proposed not only seeks to gag us and violate our rights, it also shows that the APC senators cannot not tolerate opposing views. This anti democratic bill must be stopped.

We, the people, therefore call on all Nigerians to rebel against this bill, its sponsors and supporters.

Signed:-

WE THE PEOPLE

Our Money: Sahara Reporters Posts Dino Melaye's Bank of America Check Book, Account Numbers and Statements

According to bank statements obtained by SaharaReporters, Senator Dino Melaye representing Kogi West Senatorial District has since 2010 illegally operated bank accounts in the US.

Mr. Melaye's operation of the foreign account while he is an elected public officer of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a violation of Nigerian law. The breach could cost him his seat at the Nigerian Senate if he is successfully prosecuted by the Code of Conduct Tribunal which is currently trying Senate President Bukola Saraki, a close associate of Mr. Melaye's.

SaharaReporters claims that Mr. Melaye, who once styled himself an anti-corruption activist, opened two accounts--one a current account, the other a savings account--in the name of "Daniel Din Melaye," posing as a student.

By leaving the impression of himself as a student, Senator Melaye was able to open a "CampusEdge" current account with account number 4460 1649 8396 and a regular savings account with account number 4460 1647 5966 with Bank of America in the state of Maryland.

Senator Melaye obtained a bank debit card with account number ending with #8873. It is the senator's transactions with the debit card that gave away him away as the owner of the accounts.

One of Mr. Melaye's last transactions on the account took place on December 4th as he approved payment for a transaction relating to the purchase of cosmetics from a Kremlin-based MagnitKosmetik store. Also, on September 1, Mr. Melaye approved payment to a New York-based Schweiger Dermatology.

She's in a Bad Marriage; Former Love Who Recently Lost His Wife Wants Her Back Badly(Advice column)

Sometimes we find ourselves in very complicated situations and we try to seek for help outside our brain limit,  please advice this sister

I am 32 and presently in a very bad marriage. I got married in 2008. There is this guy in my church I knew before I ever thought of meeting hubby, who has been a very good friend (platonic ), though he wanted a relationship back then but because I was very young and scared of my parents, I rejected him.

He wanted a relationship with me again during my UNI days but I refused cause he looks like a playboy to me. 2 years back, he started pressurizing me for a relationship again, though he lives abroad.

Unfortunately, he lost his wife in January, and for the past 4 months he has been disturbing me to leave hubby for him. Matter of fact, I'm beginning to have feelings for him but I'm so scared. Remember I said he looked like play boy to me back then cause he is too handsome.

I need mature advise on this as I don't know if I can cope with him or just stay put with hubby and keep on hoping for the best.

Nigeria!! Look at a poor and crappy school , in Kano State.

Ibrahim Garba Maryam shared these photos of dilapidated school classrooms in Kano State.

According to Ibrahim, This is how thousands of classrooms look like in Kano state but the government is concerned with building bridges that has more commission rather than humanity. Building new classes is not the matter what matters is fixing the old schools and give more priority to social auditing and biogenic needs .

It's quite a shame that our educational system is still as rotten as before, quite frankly as the age of technology breaks through global infrastructural development, Nigeria seems to be one of the country excluded from this course. To think that we own the title of being "the giant of Africa"

Take a good look at this pathetic pictures below and testify if Nigeria actually deserves that title..

The police arrested 21 persons suspected to be behind the illicit business, just as they recovered six babies in the hideout of the suspects.

Kalu said, "Recently, the police uncovered a baby factory behind NTA Asaba and arrested the operators of the factory. The police also arrested other 21 persons (male and female) suspected to be running illegal orphanage homes in Warri metropolis, their hideout was located at the outskirt of Warri towards Udu where the police uncovered an uncompleted buildings where the six babies were discovered."

She added that the suspects were currently helping the police in the investigation.

Kalu said the suspects, upon interrogation, confessed to the crime, saying they bought babies from relations of mentally challenged persons and took them to the home where they were sold.

Fulani herdsman narrowly escapes death in Lagos community

A Fulani herdsman, Mumini, 31, escaped death by the whiskers when one Sunday Okoroboh, a farmer in Ogombo area of Ajah, a rural community in Lagos State, threw a spear with five sharp iron spikes at him in a feat of anger.

Mumini who hails from Kwara State incurred the wrath of the farmer when he led his herd of cattle to graze in the cassava farm of Okoroboh, and in the process destroyed the growing cassava crop as the cattle marched through the farm.

Upon seeing the extent of damage done to his cassava crop, which he had laboured so much to nurture with the hope of getting a good harvest, Okoroboh allegedly flew into a rage, picked up the spike and hauled it at Mumini, but narrowly missed it, hitting him in the centre of his back, which could have resulted to death. Yet the five-spiked spear hit Mumini on the side of his back, inflicting serious injury on him.

The impact of his elder brother's near death experience, which he witnessed, left Bello in shock, as Sunday Sunlearnt.

Mumini who spoke with our reporter at the hospital where he was rushed for treatment recounted how he came face-to-face with death. He said:

"The man (Okoroboh) told my younger brother not to rear our cattle anywhere near his farmland. To drive home his warning, he chased him away with a cutlass. My brother came to inform me. So I went to find out what actually happened. That was when he attacked me with the spear. When I saw the spear, I thought it was a tool for fishing. Fortunately, he stabbed me at the side of my back otherwise I would have died instantly.

Following a report to the police, Okoroboh was arrested. In the course of investigation, he told the policemen attached to the State Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba, Lagos, that on several occasion, farmers in the area had complained over invasion of their farmlands by herdsmen.

In the instant case, he said that when the two brothers brought their herd of cattle to his farm, he told them to move their cattle away from his farm. They ignored him. This prompted an argument. In the ensuing altercation, he acted in self-defence when they attacked him.

Meanwhile Sunday Sun learnt from a source that investigation was still going on in the matter, assuring that the suspect would eventually be arraigned in court.

How Veteran Actor Morgan Freeman Almost Lost His Life To Plane Crash Yesterday

One thing we have come to believe is that when your time is not yet come, nothing in the world can kill you, Morgan is one of those people that have escaped death a couple of times

Just yesterday (Saturday) Morgan Freeman had a big scare Saturday night when a plane that he was on crash landed in Tunica, Mississippi. Fortunately, the 78-year-old actor did not suffer any injuries.

Freeman told TheWrap in a statement:

'I was on my plane on the way to Texas to shoot a segment for The Story of God.
Sometimes things don't go as planned and a tire blew on take-off which caused other problems. But thanks to my excellent pilot Jimmy Hobson we landed safely without a scratch.
I cannot say the same about my plane.'

After the tire blowout, TMZ reports that the pilot had to make an emergency landing in Tunica, 36 miles away from where the Houston-bound jet took off in Clarksdale. The plane - which is believed to be owned by the Oscar winner - veered off the end of the runway and into a dirt field after landing.

In September of last year, Freeman safely landed his private jet - which he was piloting - after it began malfunctioning en route to the Toronto International Film Festival.

Back in 2008, Freeman was seriously injured in a car crash when the vehicle he was driving flipped multiple times on a Mississippi highway. The actor still wears a compression glove on his paralyzed left hand, which supports the hand and puts pressure on it to increase blood flow to stop blood from pooling there.

Millionaire Marijuana Major Distributor Arrested In Abia State (photos)

Recent  raid by narcotics agents of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, has led to the discovery of 137kgs of cannabis and the arrest of two suspects in Abia State.

The NDLEA commander in the state, Mr. Dele Akingbade, said the two suspects, 35-year-old Fidelis Ogbonna and 68-year-old Ududem Nwoke, were major hemp distributors in the state.

Akingbade said a cannabis warehouse run by Nwoke was discovered during the raid. It was there the NDLEA discovered nine bags of cannabis weighing 87kg.

When Ogbonna was arrested, a vehicle he used for the distribution was also impounded. 50kg of cannabis ready for distribution was reportedly recovered by the NDLEA agents in the process.

Fidelis, a native of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, said he is married with three children. He explained that he could not go beyond primary school level in his education and it has forced him to rely on the proceeds of the cannabis business to fend for his family.

"My father died when I was a little child and I have suffered. A friend introduced me to the cannabis business. I use the proceeds to take care of my family. I also use my personal car to distribute it to avoid suspicion," he said.

Nwoke also gave a similar confession. He said he had been sustaining his family with cannabis proceeds. The suspect, a native of Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State told investigators that he has no formal education and is married with two children.

"Cannabis sale is my only source of livelihood," he said.

Officials told Saturday Punch that his son, who had been assisting his father in the cannabis trade, is currently on the run.

According to a statement by NDLEA spokesperson, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, the suspects will soon be charged to court for unlawful possession and trafficking of cannabis contrary to Section 11 sub-section C and D of the NDLEA Act.

He quoted the acting Chairman of the agency, Mrs. Roli Bode-George, as expressing optimism that the agency's anti-drug strategies would continue to yield positive results in the country.

"These arrests and seizures are products of painstaking surveillance and the public should look forward to a systematic dismantling of drug trafficking cartels in the days ahead," Bode-George said.
