‎Obaz  goes by the real name Obaseoyi Usang. He was born to Elder and Mrs Usang from Yakurr, Cros

s River State, both of Nigeria descent in the city of Calabar Cross River State.

He attended St Anne High Schooln Calabar where his mother purchased basic music notations and later a 7-Key mini piano which launche him into the music world.

Obaz has a brother, Obasesam and four sisters, Mbasekoi, Joy, Dodeye and Favour. During Obaz's adolescence, he would listen to tracks from lauryn Hill, Bob marley, Timaya, Sarah Machlaclan, Jay-Z and DMX. He venture in the hip hop and dancehall world started with the sampling f musical works from Timaya, DMX as early as 2000.

After his stint at McPherson University, Nigeria, Nigeria, delved into poetry while pursuing a career in Economics. There, he performed regularly at the  school's major hip hop and dancehall shows and concerts.

Obaz also made some amateur attempt at comedy but decided to stick to music because he was embarrassed when nobody laughed but him. Obaz is a fast rising artiste who has dropped his first single recently titled MONALISA and by God grace hopes to achieve greater heights and make waves in the Nigerian Music indy stry.
