The world population census as at 1990 showed a total number of 5.3 Billion people, since then the population of the world has grown rapidly rating currently and is currently at About 7.1 Billion ,

It has been estimated that about 78 to 80 % of this world population are involved or have masturbated one time in their life either directly or indirectly , But before we go Deep into The subject Of masturbation , here some facts that you should have in mind
According to the National Survey of Sexual Health and Behavior, 80% of males have masturbated by age 17, as opposed to 58% of females — and those who do are more likely to have sex and use condoms
By adulthood, those numbers rise to 92% of men and 62% of women.
53% of women use toys when masturbating.
According to Planned Parenthood, masturbation is an effective way to "relieve menstrual cramps and muscle tension.

Although this is an awkward topic that most people tend to avoid talking about. Only some Preferably people like sex educationist or therapist are comfortable talking about the subject of sexual intercourse and its pleasures or its side effects, making little or no reference to the discourse of masturbation.

Masturbation or as it is called in its popular slang "wanking or Solo " According to wikipedia is the self-sexual stimulation of the genitals for sexual arousal or other sexual pleasure, usually to the point of orgasm. The stimulation may involve hands, fingers, everyday objects, sex toys or combinations of these. Mutual masturbation, mutual manual stimulation of the genitals between partners, can be a substitute for sexual penetration.

It is an action that most teenage girls and boys, even adults involve themselves in, maybe to relieve themselves from a kind of sexual urge, or doing it out of boredom, and this habit of masturbation is entirely addictive,

in the sense that, it is very difficult to stop once started, often individuals are frustrated and depressed because of the in-ability for them to do away with this habit.
Ladies are mostly accused of masturbating more than the men, probably because it is easy and really pleasurable for them, especially with the use of their fingers or the use of sexual toys such as: dildos and vibrators, some who cannot afford this sex toys use simple things like; candles, pillows, teddy bears, and so on.

As for the men, they stroke their sex organ, till the climax point of ejaculation, masturbation is easily invoked by the exposure to sexual and explicit programs or magazines, like the men often masturbate to pornographic movies and magazines.

Masturbation has been depicted in art since prehistoric times and is mentioned and discussed in very early writings. In the 18th and 19th centuries, some European theologians and physicians described it as "heinous", "deplorable", and "hideous", but during the 20th century, these taboos generally declined. There has been an increase in discussion and portrayal of masturbation in art, popular music, television, films, and literature. Today, religions vary in their views of masturbation; some view it as a spiritually detrimental practice, some see it as not spiritually detrimental, and others take a situational view. The legal status of masturbation has also varied through history and masturbation in public is illegal in most countries.[3]
In the West, masturbation in private or with a partner is generally considered a normal and healthy part of sexual enjoyment. Animal masturbation has been observed in many species, both in the wild and in captivity.
The music industries now help to enhance the number of "wankers" because most music videos mainly from female artist and video-vixens, make a lot of sexual references in their song lyrics and they expose their sensitive parts to increase their sex appeal and create sexual excitement in the minds of their audience, not excluding the movie industries,

which also show some sexual scenes to entertain the desires of their spectators. Most health magazines applaud the act of masturbation, as an healthy habit,

While masturbation is the formal word for this practice, many other expressions are in common use. Terms such as playing with yourself, pleasuring oneself and slang such as wanking, jerking off and frigging are common. Self-abuse and self-pollution[

some doctors even prescribe it to individuals as a medium of enhancing mental relaxation and healthy sexual living, including couples going through problems in their sexual lives. Married men are sometimes advised to "jerk off" to check the quality and quantity of their semen, if it is proper for fertilization, especially for couples who are going through issues of barrenness.

Most prominent medical institutes have sperm banks, were some men donate their sperm charitably for women who seek to bear children without getting married, and they do this through masturbating. Masturbation through this light cannot be seen as a negative thing,
although it is regarded immoral by some religious doctrines, the Christian religious sect kick against masturbation claiming it is against God's law, even though the habit of masturbating was not extensively discussed in the holy writings of the bible.
Therefore on what grounds can we say masturbating is something negative or immoral? Or are we not fulfilling our natural habit or instinct to masturbate when we have the urge to?
The Epicureans, one of the archaic philosophical schools of thought postulated that man ought to act according to his natural instinct, they viewed that civilization distorts man's original nature and it is an artificial life-style which restricts man in exercising his full natural freedom.
They also believed that man is a pleasure-seeking-animal, and for them pleasure is the ultimate good that binds the nature of man and reality.
