British Actor/Model Sam Sarpong Commits Suicide after Jumping Off a Bridge Aged 40

We are sad to inform you all that British-American actor and model Sam Sarpong has committed suicide.

Sarpong had played Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli's husband in the ovie, Anchor Baby in 2010.

He passed away on Monday, Oct. 26 after leaping to his death from a bridge. Sarpong was also  co-host on MTV's Yo Momma alongside Wilmer Valderrama and a model for Tommy Hilfiger. He was the face of the brand for several years. He also made fashion history by becoming the first black male model to do a Luis Vuitton editorial campaign.

DARK SECRET OF HALLOWEEN AND WHY IT IS FOOLISH FOR NIGERIANS TO CELEBRATE IT.

Halloween has a holiday is filled with
mystery, magic and superstition. It originated from the
Celtic end-of-summer festival in which people
felt especially close to deceased relatives and
friends. For these friendly spirits, they set places
at the dinner table, left treats on doorsteps and
along the roadside  and lit candles to help
loved ones find their way back to the spirit world.
Today's Halloween ghosts are often depicted as
more fearsome and malevolent, and the Halloween customs
and superstitions are scarier too. For example: one avoids
crossing paths with black cats, afraid that they
might bring us bad luck,this idea has its roots in
the Middle Ages, when many people believed that
witches went incognito by disguising  themselves
into cats.
One tries not to walk under ladders for the
same reason. This superstition may have come
from the ancient Egyptians, who believed that
triangles were sacred; it also may have
something to do with the fact that walking under
a leaning ladder tends to be fairly unsafe. And
around Halloween, one also try to avoid
breaking mirrors, stepping on cracks in the road
or spilling salt.
All these dark superstition surrounding the Halloween tradition is not alarming to the Americans in any way. But why are Nigerians also partakers of these tradition? Aleast it is understandable  that Halloween came to America in the second half of the 19th century, during which
America was flooded with new immigrants. These
new immigrants, were millions of Irish fleeing Ireland's potato famine of 1846, and they helped to
popularize the celebration of Halloween
nationally in America . And Taking from Irish and English
traditions, Americans began to dress up in
costumes and go house to house asking for food
or money, a practice that eventually became
today's "trick-or-treat" tradition. But today they are some Nigerians participating in the Halloween tradition, imitating and photocopying an event that they do not understand. Its a pity and it shows some level of immaturity that we copy everything and anything the white man indulge in. With all the dark superstition surrounding this Halloween event,Nigerian celebrants should understand that Halloween go beyond partying and costume dress-up to actually abiding to those superficial Halloween customs, and this customs are alien to our own African culture and traditions.

The statements in the video are shocking and incitive, and I am surprised he was even granted bail.

JAMB Modifies 2016/2017 Registration Procedure For Admission Seekers (Must read)

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB modified the registration procedure for students seeking admission for the 2016/2017 academic session.

The modification according to JAMB, will lessen competition among candidates seeking placement to the nation's "oversubscribed" universities.

According to Dr Fabian Benjamin, the chief information officer of the board, JAMB has introduced "preferred choice" platform in its portal.

This new addition will enable candidates have wider opportunities of securing admission.

"What we did initially was that you only have one choice. Now, we have made it in such a way that if you miss the University of Lagos; University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira, you will have an opportunity of going to another school.

"Before, all universities will be in first and second choice and that will not solve any problem. We have now decided to put a few of those schools we feel will have more spaces as more preferred.

"Institutions placed on the more preferred choice are those that are mostly not oversubscribed. This is because it will not make any sense if you place institutions like the ABU, UNILAG, OAU and UNN, when in actual sense they cannot even admit one third of the candidates that will choose them as most preferred," he said.

See The 42yr Old Father That Slept With His Two Daughters And Impregnated One

Wonders shall never end they say.....

A 42-yeard-old man, Akate Thomas was on Tuesday arraigned before a Makurdi Magistrates' Court for allegedly raping and impregnating his 12-year-old biological daughter.

According to the Prosecuting officer, Cpl. Omaye Ujata, one Francis Omanga reported the case to the police.

Ujata told the court that the 42-year-old had sexual intercourse with his two daughters, 12 and 10 years old and one of the girls got impregnated as a result of the "constant forceful sexual intercourse.''

The prosecutor further disclosed that Thomas threatened to kill the girls whenever they tried to expose him.

When the charge was read, the defendant however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

In his ruling, the Magistrate, Mr David Agada, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with one surety in like sum, who should be a blood relation.

Agada adjourned the case till Nov. 16 for further hearing.
