There are reports circulating about an extra-judicial outfit called the Oyabo under the leadership of one Mr. Olarenwaju Aderemi Olabinjo parading themselves as constituted authority by kidnapping, torturing and killing unsuspecting victims for ritual and other sinister purposes. This malaise seriously needs urgent intervention from the local law enforcement agencies in the state.
It is said that the activities of this violent and occult group are threatening to ruin the progress the Lagos State Police has made in eradicating crime in the state. This will be the case if they do not immediately swoop in to nip this potential problem in the bud by checkmating the activities of this havoc-wrea
A case in point: most recently, there was a sudden disappearance of an Ikorodu native by name Taofeek Oluwadamilare Omolaja, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.A Omolaja. Reports have it that, on that fateful night, Taofeek left the house after informing his mum that he was attending a friend’s birthday party at Ajina, Ikorodu, Lagos on the 1st of November 2016. He has not returned home since then. Since, Taofeek is not the kind who stays overnight anywhere else from his home, his mother became pensive and raised an alarm.
Enquiries which followed revealed that the above named group under the guise of the PSP stormed the premises of the birthday party and left with Taofeek and another boy called Ismail Adebogun.
After going to the den of the group at Aga Ikorodu to seek the release of her son, they were told that he had been handed over to the Ikorodu Police Division. It became obvious that the group was deceiving her when she had gone to about four Law Enforcement agency locations viz; Area Command Ogudu, SARS Ikeja, Federal SARS Adeniji Adele, and the State CID, Yaba. All to no avail, as the boy was never found.
Another occurrence was the disappearance of one Mr. Waheed Kabiru alias Shiyan who was kidnapped a year ago by the group. Till this moment, nothing has been heard about him.
On behalf of the families of the missing boys, and the other families who have been affected by this, but cannot speak out, this is an appeal to the commissioner of police to act on this information by looking into the activities of this group -which involves killing and selling of human parts- and stop them before they morph into a beast that cannot be tamed.
