Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has unexpectedly signed a new two-year contract at the club.
The Brazil international appeared to be heading for the Camp Nou exit this summer when his existing deal expired at the end of the month.
But he has now put pen to paper on a new deal to cap a treble-winning season with Barca. He is tied to the Catalan giants until June 2017, with an option to extend the deal for a further season until June 2018.
The 31-year-old had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United in recent times as manager Louis van Gaal seeks to strengthen in recent days.
In the last few days, Italian side AC Milan were rumoured to be closing in on Alves' signing on a free transfer. But dang!! He wants to remain with Barca Fc.
