Wale Says Meek Mill Has Changed Since He started Dating Nicki Minaj (see interview)

Wale may have The Album About Nothing, but this morning he had a lot of somethings to talk about with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.

With a wrestling championship belt on his shoulder throughout the entire interview, the proud and often misunderstood MC touched on a plethora of topics ranging from his relationship with Jerry Seinfeld to mental illness in the Black community, but he started off with his love for the WWE and more importantly his friendship with Meek Mill.

"He's in love! Love changes… it makes people get a bounce in your step," he said of Meek's relationship with Nicki Minaj. "In all seriousness, it's just… everybody goes through it, man. We're growing up in front of like the world, though," he said.

Although the two MMG rappers never really had a conversation "squashing" the beef, Wale says that when they got together it was just over.

"He's cleaned up a lot of things in his life, and me as well. At the end of the day blood is thicker than water. Obviously [we're] not blood related, but in this industry we're blood."

During his time with DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne, the "Clappers" rapper also says he believes that white artists tend to receive more Top 40 play than Black artists even if they are making urban music. He name checks Iggy Azalea for getting more opportunities than Black rappers that she may be influenced by, and despite immense talent, one British artist he believes is benefiting from white privilege.

"[I'm a] big fan of Sam Smith, but had that 'Stay With Me' record had been sung by a Black person, it would not have reached Top 40," he said.
