The above pictured 400L student of Biological Science department of University of Abuja has died. The student who is popularly known as AFOKE was killed on the spot by a hit-and-run driver in front of the Main Campus of the University along Giri-Airport road.
According to GwagsFact: She was hit while trying to cross the road to get a cab going to Gwagwalada as she couldn't defend her final project work as a final year student.
The students have blamed the department for keeping them in school until 7:30pm knowing that there was no transport means to leave the school. They have also called on FERMA and the school to provide speed bumps on the road and also complete the pedestrian bridge.
At the moment, SUG officials and students are presently at the specialist hospital as we're trying to sympathize with the family of the deceased.
• Rest in peace Afoke. She died in the pursuit of knowledge.
