The police at the Maroko Division, Lekki, Lagos have arrested a security guard, Ibrahim Musa, 30, for allegedly using interlocking stones to batter his employer, Flora Nwafor, a prominent resident of Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, one month after he was employed.The police also accused him of attempted murder and theft in the charge sheet.
The second count accused Musa of using stones to break her employer's right arm, finger and biting her on the face.
The police stated that the victim's shouts attracted neighbours and other security men in the area who saved her from being killed. She was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
The security guard, it was learnt, escaped from the scene before he could be apprehended and fled to his village in Yola, Adamawa State.
The detectives tracked the suspect to his village in Adamawa State where he was arrested and brought back to Lagos.
Following the injuries sustained by the victim, doctors in Nigeria referred her to a specialist hospital abroad for treatment.
The incident, according to the Police, occurred on 25 June, 2016 at 27A Emmanuel Abimbola Cole Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
During interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed that he attacked his employer with the intention to kill her and cart away her properties to sell and use the proceeds to start a business.
In her short ruling after listening to both sides, Magistrate O. Oghre ordered that the accused be remanded in Ikoyi prison till 23 August, for facts and sentencing.

The police force had not totally failed, there are still some honorable people doing their job to heart.
According to facebook user Daniel Odofin who shared the pictures, this police woman was spotted in Oyo state controlling traffic in the rain

"We are quick to point it out when our police do something wrong.
Today I saw a police woman in the rain, drenched and still doing her duty.
Actively doing her job, despite the rain. Not running for shelter even though no one would blame her if she did. This is the kind of person that lifts the image of the Nigerian Police Force.
Her name is Maryam, I didn't get her last name properly or her rank. Her devotion to duty made the difference in a place synonymous with traffic gridlock on a day that isn't comfortable.
She doesn't have the kind of salary or allowance that our public officials boast of but she gives meaning to the title "Civil Servant".
Help us make Maryam Opep famous, help us show others what devotion to duty is. P

This is kind of ridiculous,
We just received report that JAMB has withdrawn the list of recommended candidates for admission earlier sent to the tertiary institutions.
They said this is to ensure that the University Senate perform its statutory responsibility of conducting the selection of candidates and refer it to JAMB for confirmation in line with the admission criteria of merit, catchment and educationally disadvantaged states.
Candidates should not panic because this is part of the process of the 2016 admission exercise. JAMB regrets any inconvenience this decision would have caused the tertiary institutions.
