Transgender Identity Is A Mental Disorder --- Dr McHugh (Psychiatrist) #Brucejenner

Well I don't even need a psychiatrist to tell me this before I think so, like what the hell ?

Why would somebody just wake up one day and decide to change the sex that God gave him or her? The person is not normal that's all,

Yes I may not understand his frustrations or am talking from theological perspective so let us listen to the psychiatrist

Dr. Paul McHugh, former psychiatrist-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, which argues that transgender identity is a mental illness akin to bulimia and should not be treated with surgery, which can cause more harm than good.

Dr. McHugh's arguments focus on treatments that are demanded for transgendered individuals as a matter of right, including surgery in adults and puberty-delaying drugs in children. He writes:

**We at Johns Hopkins University—which in the 1960s was the first American medical center to venture into "sex-reassignment surgery"—launched a study in the 1970s comparing the outcomes of transgendered people who had the surgery with the outcomes of those who did not. Most of the surgically treated patients described themselves as "satisfied" by the results, but their subsequent psycho-social adjustments were no better than those who didn't have the surgery. And so at Hopkins we stopped doing sex-reassignment surgery, since producing a "satisfied" but still troubled patient seemed an inadequate reason for surgically amputating normal organs.

It now appears that our long-ago decision was a wise one. A 2011 study at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden produced the most illuminating results yet regarding the transgendered, evidence that should give advocates pause. The long-term study—up to 30 years—followed 324 people who had sex-reassignment surgery. The study revealed that beginning about 10 years after having the surgery, the transgendered began to experience increasing mental difficulties. Most shockingly, their suicide mortality rose almost 20-fold above the comparable nontransgender population. This disturbing result has as yet no explanation but probably reflects the growing sense of isolation reported by the aging transgendered after surgery. The high suicide rate certainly challenges the surgery prescription.**

The op-ed was also referenced on Tuesday by radio host Rush Limbaugh, who applauded McHugh, adding that the transgender cause had become a "push point" for the left. Later, Limbaugh interviewed a transgendered conservative who objected to the way the left had hijacked her identity for a political cause.

One of the sour points of the last administration under president Goodluck Jonathan was the loss of over 400,000 barrels of oil daily despite heavy payments being made under pipeline surveillance contracts.

One of the biggest beneficiaries of the surveillance contracts has been former Niger Delta militant, Mr. Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo who has been earning a whopping N1.5bn every month.

The shocking revelation was made by the pioneer chairman of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Ahmed Tijani Ramalan.

He disclosed that the agency pays the sum of N1.5bn monthly to the ex-militant leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), Tompolo, to protect the nation's maritime areas.

Dr Ramalan, however, lamented that despite such gesture, the country still loses over 400,000 barrels of crude oil daily from the nation's shores.

The former NIMASA chairman therefore called on president Muhammadu Buhari to cancel the contract given to the ex-militant by the administration of former president Jonathan.

He said, "Over 400, 000 barrels of crude oil are being stolen daily from our shores under President Jonathan; yet we had a government that has the Navy, the Army and the Air Force, and the government of Jonathan decides to hand over the security of our maritime waters to Tompolo at a very exorbitant amount of money.

"And these same people that are given the job of our maritime security are the ones that are collaborating with the international shipping companies to steal our oil."

According to him, one of the ways to help the country's economy to bounce back is to revoke Tompolo's contract.

"And if Buhari does not do so, we will be the first to start attacking him. There is no basis to give that kind of billion naira job to ex-militants," he declared.

Making further clarification on how long the payment has been going on, Ramalan said it started "sometime after 2011 when Jonathan won his election and since then the payment has been on.
"I was the pioneer chairman of NIMASA, and NIMASA is the one funding the contract given to Tompolo. This is a guy that is collecting about N1.5bn every month and yet our Armed Forces are not well funded. So, we call on the president to discard such contract."

Call Your Wife to Order: Group Warns Ex President Jonathan

A group, Concerned Bayelsa Elders, has warned former President Goodluck Jonathan to call his wife, Patience, to order or risk political crisis in Bayelsa State.

The leader of the group, Ebeletimi Wilson, said this while addressing journalists in Lagos, according to a statement on Tuesday.

Wilson said Jonathan's wife was still scheming to ensure that the Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, does not emerge governor next year.

He said now that Jonathan has relocated to Bayelsa State, his wife is attempting to use her supporters in the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria to frustrate the governor.

He said if Jonathan did not handle the situation well, he could lose Dickson's loyalty just as former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Timipre Sylva abandoned him.

Wilson said, "What exactly does Dame Patience Jonathan want? Dickson has proved to be a performing governor as he has within three years transformed the state in the areas of infrastructural development and security. This initiative has changed the fortunes of the state.

"Jonathan should be able to call his people to order because we know that his inability to call his people to order resulted in the eventual face off with Timipre Sylva and Rotimi Amaechi.

"Our appeal is that, as the leader of the state, Jonathan should encourage Dickson for succeeding in keeping the Peoples Democratic Party united in the state."

Wilson said if Jonathan did not speak up then it would be assumed that he and his wife are plotting to ensure that a former commissioner, Waipamo-Owei Dudafa, emerges the next governor of the state.

He alleged that Patience's clique and preferred candidate were the ones frustrating Dickson's administration.

He said, "Why should ex-President Jonathan keep mum while his wife fuels crisis in the state just because she is not getting her way? It is very disappointing. Her aim is to turn Bayelsa into a crisis-ridden state like what she encouraged in Rivers State, but thank God Dickson has been tactful.

"It is ironical that she has in the last three years been the main opposition in Bayelsa State, intimidating the people and even security operatives."

We are absolutely sad to report that Rhythm 93.7FM PH on-air personality, a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University(unizik) awka,writer, and motivational speaker, Iphie Aggrey-Fynn was shot dead by armed robbers along Aba-Port Harcourt expressway yesterday.



The Ghanaian-born OAP and blogger had gone to see her parents in Aba and was on her way back to Port Harcourt when their bus was attacked by armed robbers. As the driver attempted to speed away, the gunmen open fire on the bus, killing Ifeoma. She has worked with Unizik 94.1 fm and also Rhythm 95.7 fm awka.May your soul rest in peace my Fav OAP, Amen.

SOUL FOOD: THE CASE FOR CHRISTIANITY

Things are not as they ought to be. We live on two levels. The first is the way things are, the human level. And we can envision and hope for a better world full of perfect justice, beauty, friendship, let's call that the divine level. That's the way things ought to be. So there is a huge chasm between the way things are and the way things ought to be. So how do we bridge this chasm? The atheist goes "that's a wrong diagnosis, we're doing great right now" but that is just a foolish refusal to acknowledge the rotten nature of human being. To realize this, all you have to do is set people loose and remove laws or let the police take a weak off and see what happens.

Most religions in the world say that humans can climb up to the divine level by following a set of codes or commandments; Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc. Christianity is unique and radical in saying in effect "no". This gap is too wide apart and we cannot climb high enough to get to the divine level. We can go up a couple of runs but we are not satisfied with only a couple of runs, we want to get to the finish line. God saw that and knew the only way to close the gap is if God, has to, in some sense, become man and show us from our human level, how to get up there. That is the only way to really get up to the divine level.

Jesus is, if you will, God's emissary to the world. And look at what Jesus said. He said only one thing we have to do to get there - plead guilty and ask for help and follow the instructions that follow. What could be a more gentler, easier counsel than to say "whatever you've done, even Hitler, if you have true repentance, salvation is sure to be yours"

This, is one of the major reasons why I am a Christian.
