WHY Top Officials Of The APC Consider The New Handover Date Of May 28 A Jonathanian Trap

We had brought you the story of plans by the departing Jonathan-led administration to handover to the incoming Buhari administration on May 28 rather than the constitutionally recognized date of May 29, as announced by  Minister of Information, Patricia Akwashiki.

On Friday, we reported as well that legal luminary and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, decried the new handover date because the law abhorred a vacuum.

"As far as the law is concerned, President Jonathan is in charge of the country until May 29. He cannot cut short his presidency in the name of handing over the day before at a dinner, as there is no provision for a vacuum", Falana had said.

And now, some top officials within the All Progressives Congress (APC) think the new handover date announced by the presidency is a trap that may well be laden with sinister intentions, according to a Punch story.

The Punch writes that:

A top member of the All Progressives Congress, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the media said, "It is simply not acceptable, we are rejecting it, it is a trap."

He explained that from a security point of view, it could be considered a trap.

"How can anyone explain a situation where an outgoing president and his team will conveniently excuse themselves from an event where they are supposed to play a role when the President-elect and the Vice-President- elect are supposed to be present?" he queried.

According to the party chieftain, power abhors a vacuum as such, the constitution does not envisage a situation where Nigeria will be without a sitting President even for one hour.

He said, "If Jonathan hands over on the 28th, who accounts for the hours before the morning of the 29th when the Chief Justice of the Federation is to administer the oath of office and the oath of allegiance?

"What if there is even a sinister motive to this whole saga? As the President of the nation; who will still be the Chief Security officer until he hands over, there is no excuse that is strong enough to excuse him from the event."

Rotimi Fashakin, a member of the Buhari campaign team also frowned at the new handover date.

"It (the proposed handover on the 28th) portends ill for the political destiny of this nation.

"That statement is loaded and it shows that the Nigerian people should not rest yet that there is still ominous signs which we should never take for granted. If Jonathan truly said he is handing over on the 28th it presupposes that he will be absent on the 29th.

"Number one, if he hands over on the 28th to the President-elect, does Gen. Muhammadu Buhari start to act effectively on that date? The answer is an emphatic NO.

"GMB does not start to act on that date, if you get what I mean. Handing over to GMB on that date is not only meaningless, it is stupid. It has no meaning in law, or reality. It means that for 24 hours before GMB takes over there will be a vacuum."

We await an official statement from the APC on this. Given their ability to churn out press releases, we are betting the wait won't be for too long.

EXPOSITO!! Rapper Amil Left The Music Industry Because She Refused To Sell Her Soul (details)

It was rumored back in 2001 that rapper Amil was kicked off of Rocafella Records by Jay Z because she was fighting with his female assistants. It was also rumored that Jay Z was sleeping with Amil and Beyonce at the same time (Amil and Beyonce made a song together titled, "I Got That" back in 2000).

In an interview, Amil stated that she left the music industry because she wasn't ready for where her career was going. She stated the more money she made, the more deals she had to make with Satan. In 2007, it was reported that the mother of three was working for Macy's.

It was brought to my attention that Amil had a song on her 2000 album A.M.I.L (All Money Is Legal) titled, Quarrels. In the song Quarrels, Amil talks against being planted with chips, selling soul for fame, celebrating holidays, one world order, abortions, pledging allegiance and the number 6.

I'm not sure if she or Jay Z wrote the song, but did Amil leave the industry because she refused to conform and comply?

Quarrels lyrics:

Ever since I known you, you been out to get me
Acting like my peeps, but I know that's how you tricked me
Love to see me get high, love to see my tipsy
Heard you even wanna stick a little chip in me
You been trying to play me close ever since my shine
Wanna take me to dinner, feed me shrimp and swine
You said, "Amil I want you to meet a good friend of mine
His name is Money and we partners till the end of time"
Introduced me to your clique, hate, envy, lust and greed
Said you want the whole world in ya custody
And if I give you my soul you'll give me luxuries
Said you could hit me up wit power, it's just up to me
I turn you on when I'm in short skirts and tight jeans
You want my kids to write Santa and celebrate Halloween
Told me sell my people crack and get rich off feens
You love the number six but hate the number thirteen

We'll have some quarrels Some disappointments
And a whole lot of problems
And you will except me

You wanna, be the one to pick me up when I fall
Told me hang Casear bojease on my living room wall
It was always something bout you that made my skin crawl
You turned me into a player and showed me how to ball
You give me rewards when I rob and steal Want me to abort my babies and get on the pill
You put burners in the hood so each other we kill
I see your eye watching me on the dollar bills
When I got the scoop on you, it just made you mad
Cause I moved out your crib, packed all my bags
Them days I turned to you was the days you laughed
You used to smile every time I pledge allegiance to the flag
We speak now and then but we ain't smacking hands
You be up in the clubs asking me for a dance
Still trying to convince me to go cheat on my man
Begging me to please give you just one more chance

We'll have some quarrels
Some disappointments
And a whole lot of problems
And you will except me

When we was kids you was the one who taught me how to lie
Said I could always use you as my alibi
And you kept me from knowledge, wisdom, and the most high
Had me believe God had blonde hair and blue eyes
Our relationship went sour since I found the truth
You know you can't have me so you fuck with my youth
You got all my phones tapped, I gotta talk at booths
I learned an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth
You built Sodom and Gomorra for us all to live in
When we was cool you used to tell me all your visions
Like how you gonna rule the nations under one religion
You got this New World order, it's like a big prison
You said you wanna be worshipped from noon to noon
Nothings gonna get better is what we all assumed
Cause nights is getting shorter and it's snowing in June
I see you working overtime cause you out of here soon

We'll have some quarrels
Some disappointments
And a whole lot of problems
And you will except me
We'll have some quarrels
Some disappointments
And a whole lot of problems
And you will except me

Kidnapper Shot Dead while Picking N3m Ransom in Lagos (Graphic Photo)

A suspected kidnapper, Niyi Omosola,(pictured after the cut) has been shot dead by the police in the Epe area of Lagos.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Omosola was shot dead during a rescue operation by the police to free a victim, identified simply as Kudirat. It was gathered that Omosola, while collecting the ransom, sighted the police and decided to escape on a motorcycle when the operatives fired him.

Omosola, who hailed from Ondo State, allegedly led a gang which kidnapped the woman in the
Elemoro, Ajah area.

Sixty-two-year-old Kudirat, a businesswoman, was reportedly abducted by the gang on Thursday, April 16, at about 7pm. She was inspecting the construction work at a petrol station she owned in the area when the kidnappers swooped on her and took her away.

It was gathered that the gang later contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N50m. However, after negotiation, the gang and the family agreed to a ransom of N3m.

PUNCH Metro learnt on Wednesday that Kudirat's brother, who had been communicating with the gang, took the ransom to an agreed hideout in the Epe area.

However, a team of operatives led by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad Commander, Abba Kyari, was said to have trailed Kudirat's brother to the hideout.

A police source said Omosola, while collecting the ransom, initially opened fire when he sighted the police.

He added that when the kingpin saw that he was outnumbered, he tried to escape on a motorcycle, leaving the policemen with no choice than to fire him.

He said:
"The kidnappers are a notorious gang. They had conducted several operations in the area. In the latest incident, they demanded N50m initially, but when the family could not produce the amount, they finally agreed to N3m. They also arranged where the place of meeting would be in the Epe area.
The police trailed the brother, who was taking the money to Epe, where Omosola was waiting. Immediately he collected the ransom, he suspected that policemen were around and he began to shoot sporadically.
He got on a motorcycle and was riding off when he was gunned down. He did not die immediately."
PUNCH Metro learnt that Omosola, who was injured, led the SARS operatives to a bush between Epe and Ijebu Ode, where the woman was held. When the police arrived at the hideout, his gang members had reportedly fled the place.

It was gathered that Kudirat was rescued alive by the police, while Omosola eventually died from the gunshot injuries.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said efforts were on to apprehend the remaining gang members.

He said:
"When the information was received, the operatives trailed the gang to the location. The kidnap kingpin actually fired at SARS operatives, who were carrying out the rescue operation, and they fired back. In the process, he was fatally wounded.
The woman has been rescued, while the corpse has been deposited at a public morgue. Efforts are being intensified to arrest other fleeing members of the gang."

MUST READ!! Every Woman's Worst Enemy In Life

When I hear females saying things along the lines of "I'm not friends with too many women because they're too much drama," I can't help but cringe. After years of experiencing all kinds of female friendships both good and bad, I've asked myself the same question over and over again. Why do women hate each other?

The truth is, most females, no matter how old they are will tell you that they've survived at least one type of mean girl in their past. Whether it was a situation that dealt with putting someone down, being dismissed, ignored or even socially tormented, they all seem to boil down to one thing- hatred. I just don't understand it.

For some people they say that it has gotten worse in the past few years considering the increase in bullying, but this issue has been around for ages.

Most women had one thing in common: they had great pain when they gave birth to their children. This should make a bond that held them together, it should make them love and protect each other against the man-world. But it was not so. It seemed like their great birth pains shrank their hearts and their souls. They stuck together for only one thing- to trample on some other woman…whether it was by throwing stones or mean gossip. It was the only kind of loyalty they seemed to have. As long as I live, I will never have a woman for a friend. I will never trust any woman again, except maybe mama."

If this doesn't break your heart, I have no words for you. Why do some of us seemingly hate our own gender? As women we should be allies to each other, not be taught to hate and compete with each other. Why should this be the case?

There's just a plethora of confusion that makes absolutely no sense. Honestly, I think the hatred for other women comes from within. Once a woman hates herself, it's easy to get her to hate another woman. I say this because if a woman who hates herself sees a woman who seemingly doesn't hate herself, it's easy to project the internalized negativity onto her. Think about it. How many times have you heard, "Who does she think she is?" "She's not all that anyway" "Why is she so full of herself?" This is true for all humans, not just women. It is human nature.

It pains me to think that we have this mentality. Society has us pitted against each other and seems to want to keep us from being whole and healthy as individuals and as a group. We should be and need to be celebrated by each other so that we can stand united and fight against injustice toward our gender. Women should empower each other instead of being so hateful towards each other.

This feels like an uphill battle, but I believe that we can and will be able to make it to the top. It starts by loving ourselves and loving each other

FINALLT!!! Baby Rafeeq Atanda Recalled Back to The UK

Little Rafeeq Atanda, the British-Nigerian boy deported even after his mother spent years making a heartbreaking appeal for her son to be allowed to stay in the UK – because he was born there has received reprieve.

The Home Office has been ordered to bring a woman and her son back to the UK after they were deported.
In an unusual move judges told the department to organise the return of the mother and the five-year-old British-born boy from her native Nigeria.

They found that in ordering the pair's removal from the UK in January, the Home Office "failed to have regard to (the child's) best interests as a primary consideration".

After agreeing to a judicial review of the case, the judges ordered the Home Secretary to "take all reasonable steps" to ensure the mother and her child's return.

EXPOSITO!! Major Reasons Why President Jonathan Fired IGP Suleiman Abba

The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Suleiman Abba, yesterday, became the first major casualty of the just concluded general elections, which President Goodluck Jonathan and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, lost to the opposition.

The police officer, who was elevated to the post only last year, incurred the wrath of the Presidency on the eve of the governorship and House of Assembly elections for allegedly arguing with the government officials over the directive to recall the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Charge of Zone 6, Tunde Ogunshakin, from Rivers State.

Abba, Vanguard reports, had deployed Ogunshakin from his base in Calabar to Port Harcourt to
oversee the governorship election in Rivers State following complaints by Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, that the police had collaborated with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the PDP to intimidate APC members and rig the presidential and National Assembly elections in the state.

His refusal to pick calls over Ogunshakin's recall

Another source said the former police boss reportedly ignored presidency official's objection to the deployment of Ogunshakin to Rivers State on the allegation that the police officer was sympathetic to Amaechi and his party and would, therefore, not allow the PDP win the state.

A Presidency source told Vanguard that on learning that the IG had defied its order by redeploying Ogunshakin to Rivers State to supervise the governorship elections. A presidency official called the former police boss to recall the AIG with immediate effect from Rivers State or face the consequences.

The source said the presidency felt slighted when it could not get through to Abba.

The former police boss reportedly told the Presidency that AIG Ogunshakin was a formidable Police officer whom he described as a 'no-nonsense officer' feared and respected in the Police Force hierarchy and capable of ensuring law and order in the place of new assignment.

Vanguard learnt that although the sacked IG reluctantly recalled Ogunshakin from Rivers State, forcing him to quit Port Harcourt by 5 am on the election day, Presidency did not forgive Abba for redeploying Ogunshakin reluctantly.

Presence at Buhari's certificate of return presentation

Another sin of the former IG was his presence at the presentation of the Certificate of Return to Muhammadu Buhari at the International Conference Centre on April 1, 2015, which convinced the Presidency that the IG was actually working for the opposition and it moved quickly against him.
Arase replaces Abba.

The Senior Special Adviser to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, could not also be reached for comments on the development.

Abba's sack was announced by the president's spokesman, Reuben Abati, in a statement yesterday. No reason was given for the sack while a Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Solomon Arase, was appointed to act in his stead.
