The singer was on stage at the South African of the Year Awards when he asked the audience: "Y'all speak English right?" After making the seemingly ignorant comment, South Africans, clearly unimpressed, lambasted Derulo, with some calling him ignorant and others launching a personal attack on his music.
Most of them took to Twitter in their droves to vent at the star even after he tried to explain his statement. lol. -
